What are expectations for this program?

I think we have a interesting fan base.  We have the old guard ( like myself) who has seen us be an elite program.  Then we have the new guard who have not seen  success in the past couple of decades.  What do you guys expect?  I personally would like a team that always goes to the tournament, with a good healthy dose of sweet sixteen, elite eight and final fours.  Where do you guys stand, and whats your reasoning behind your opinion.  Thanks.

I'd just like a team that graduates athletes and is coached to play beyond expectations. For me, these would be a step in the right direction, and something IU could be proud of. Currently, with player misbehavior, and poor coaching, low graduation rates, etc..., we are a shell of our former self. We are edging closer to being Kentucky without the wins.

Make the dance 9 years out of every ten. Have a team good enough to win it all 4 or 5 times a decade.

You are gonna get a whole lot of the we discussed this a thousand times and we arent what we used to be crap. I dont care I will give you mine. I expect to have a coach 85% of the fan base is behind. I expect us to recruit well enough to atleast have a balanced roster every year. I expect us to finish top five in conference every year and really challenge for a title on a regular basis. I expect us to challenge and win multiple BTT's. A bad year means 5-6 in the B1G and a low seed in the Dance. Never miss the Dance. I expect us to play defense EVERY year even when the offense isnt top 5. Compete and land enough 5 star talent to be a legitimate top 5 program threat for a banner every 3- years. Wisconsin, MSU and OSU do this at football schools. No reason we cant do this here.

Look at MSU, OSU, Wisconsin over the last ten years. Three teams in our conference that are getting it done every year even with early departures. Just about every year they are in the top 4 of the conference and in the tournament.

Expecting less is crazy.

I had to put that in because people use our losses as excuses whereas MSU and OSU have not. Certainly Wisconsin has lost fewer kids early but like the other two they have had continued success which is my point.

Three teams in the BT are finding a way to have continued success. It might be hard for Northwestern to match that but we should strive for that as a minimum.

Make the tourney every year, sweet sixteen at least once every 4 years and hopefully a final four every 5. Not making the tournament more than once in a 6 year time span, well after the rebuild is/should be done isn't acceptable

I would imagine this is not sufficient.
