#23 IU defeats #13 Maryland 89-70 post game thread

@Justin_Albers: Hanner Mosquera-Perea was watching tonight’s game from the locker room and “learning from another direction.” Not being disciplined. #iubb

Bullcrap. What did he do.

I heard Crean went through hitting all the players in the knees to check their reflexes and Hanner acted like "a total baby" when he did his.

Late To The Party----Anybody else going to have a hard time sleeping tonight?

My Phone Has Been Buzzing Off the Hook----Family and Friends Are Excited In Southern Indiana Tonight!

Great win for our Hoosiers----you could tell on TV the crowd was electric---and it was even electric watching it on TV.

As we expected and discussed this week----Maryland's first visit To The Hall---was not a friendly or pretty one.

They actually played better then I expected----we were just amazing!

SO THIS IS WHAT WE LOOK LIKE WHEN WE ARE CLICKING ON ALL CYLINDERS----awesome basketball tonight.

Hat's off to Yogi---that game was personal----I am sure he was sick of hearing how great Trimble was at point guard.

Yogi put on a show----and Trimble looked like a freshman coming into The Hall for the first time.

This is a nice game tape to send to the NBA scouts----new Yogi buzz has been generated.

I have a hard time picking an MVP----Hartman ---Yogi----and JBJ all shined tonight.

Hartman got us started with those 3's.

His Heart and hustle continue to amaze me.

Indiana has invented the "STRETCH 5"-----I never thought it could work and Hartman is proving me wrong.

From ACL injury to star in such a short amount of time is one of the best stories in college basketball this season.

WOW!
That was incredible.
Crean is coaching for his life and it is paying off BIG TIME!!!

Regardless of how this season turns out, I think we can all agree that this team is fun to watch and easy to root for!

Also, BIG ups to Crean for playing a tight rotation and playing key players, key minutes, during key stretches.

And, BIG ups to Yogi, Blackmon, Hartman and company for shooting the leather off the ball. A thing of beauty tonight.

yogis worst nba attribute is one he can't help... Unfortunately he will never be taller than 5'11". He can play lights out and he will only move up so far in nba draft boards. He can still be all bigten, Naismith etc but nba lottery just is against him due to his size

JBJ looked good and under control tonight.

He has now outplayed Russell and Trimble head-to-head---and his team got the win both times so far.

Of course---he can thank Yogi's defense on Trimble and Russell for a lot of that success.

JBJ is getting better on the drive and his shot is coming back as well.

Troy was solid again-----he forced a few things but that comes with his aggressive game.

Troy has made the Oladipo leap from year 1 to year 2.

I just hope we get him for a year 3.

I have heard two commentators in the last 2 days---including one on the Big Ten network tonight after the game say there is a chance he will make it as a first rounder this year.  I agree.

I am still in disbelief over the way we handled Maryland.

We just took the Big Ten's best defensive team to the woodshed!

No one had scored over 80 points on them and only one other team all year shot over 50% against them.

Just as the announcers said on TV---we controlled the game all night long from start to finish.

We are starting to tap into our potential-----and our ceiling is so high.

It was great to see the team play hard and strong for the full 40 minutes.

Although the stats don't exactly bear it out---I think our defense is getting better too.

We sped them up so much they were sloppy at times----and we forced them to hit a lot of tough shots----they are a good team.

We are finally learning the zone and man to man switches a little better---and Maryland was confused a lot of the night.

And how about HEARTman---our stretch 5----with 3 blocked shots!

agree. We had only about 3 or 4 plays where we looked like matadors or forgot to block out. That's improvement! We did have a couple of bad ones though. Those are the ones CTC can show these Shooters!

We have to give Crean a lot of credit for the game plan tonight-----and for what he has been able to do with this team after losing virtually all of our bigs in a short amount of time.

We are now truly THE HURRYIN' HOOSIERS!----With Yogi and Troy we have two of the fastest--ankle breaking slashers in college BBall and everyone else on the team is getting better at it too.  IU on the fast break is a blur and hard to defend. Combine that with our multiple 3 point shooters and HEARTman's hustle and we are hard to handle for any defense.

As the announcers said IU plays a fun style of basketball to watch---I hope the recruits are paying attention.  I hope recruits were at the game tonight.
