ALASKA HOOSIER

Mid-season forecast

Recommended Posts

I need more Nebraska and Louisville Perea! I started thinking he was a "only when the lights are on" player like they said Remy was.

I agree and started wondering that too---but O$U should have been a  "lights are on" game!

ESPN--and a national audience.

Right now---"inconsistency" is still the name of his game.

My whole take on the Perea thing is we'd be in pretty deep do-do right now if Emmitt hadn't signed. He should be starting or at least be getting more minutes.

Hanner's too inconsistent to be relied upon as a starter in the Big.Great athlete with terrible basketball instincts.Hope he gains some but halfway through his third season it doesn't look promising.

Hope I'm proven wrong.

Interesting

@All_Hoosiers: When Hanner Perea plays over 20 minutes, Indiana is 9-1. When he plays 20 minutes or less, Hoosiers are 3-3. His play is key. #iubb

Spent about 30 minutes looking for interesting stats such as this. I'd say I was most surprised by this one though.

Obviously it's important for Hanner to become a consistent player in conference play.

one possible take away from this that isn't so obvious.............

Hanner can stay out of foul trouble against "easy" teams and thus the easy wins and increased minutes.

Hanner struggles against the better teams especially with fouls and consistency and gets lesser minutes.

It is definitely not a straight deduction that if Hanner plays more we win more. It may be when we win by more Hanner plays more. Casual relationship going on here.

Causal relationship.... most of MINE were casual relationships.

Predict; one home loss. Loss at Maryland, Wisconsin, and @ OSU.

Gut says add one more loss to that at home. But, I also like think we'll take down wiscy.
So lose 5 B1G games, what's that put us at....10-4 in the games above? I'll take that. I'll take that 7 times out of 10.

23-7 final record. My personal opinion.

Didn't we finish something like that Cody's freshman year?

Now we are getting a little respect finally! If only we can rip one off at Illinois, we will be set up! That's a solid bracket we would be in currently.

Respect is earned and by winning games we'll get it. Beating Illinois will be a good way to keep the ball rolling and help with the skepticism people including myself have with this team. They're down right now and If we are going to beat them in Champaign this is the time.Good teams win on the road decent teams rarely do.

Go Hoosiers Beat Illini!

Illinois is listed as 1st 4 out. A road win at Illinois and a home win vs Marlyand could be a huge boost.

I am really hoping for 2-2 in this stretch. We need and likely will beat a good Maryland team at home. Need to steal a road win in the other 3. Purdue most likely, Illinois second mist likely, and O$U is a major long shot.

Purdue's size is worrisome to me.But then again our speed and outside shooting should give them fits.

Should be a battle.Hope for and fully expect a better effort that our tank job last season.

Their size is worrisome but their big men tend to foul, A LOT. All we have to do is drive it right at them.
