post game IU/MissValleyState...

Blackmon eased his way into 25 lol.. Rojo is so much more than I thought he was.

Max running point? I like it

I keep hearing this about Rojo from IU fans and I don't get it. He was a top 40 recruit. Highly recruited. He is right where I thought he'd be. The kid is a basketball stud.

Remember when nobody knew who that Stauskas kid was? I had some inside info. on how good Max was last year and took some heat for saying the kid could ball at this level. He has to get stronger and improve on D but the kids got talent and a confidence about him I love. April impressed me. He has decent footwork and good hands and looks like he has been on a basketball court before.

Edit: I will watch better high school teams than MVS, BUT, you can still glean some things from these cupcake games.

When we beat SMU next week I don't wanna hear you all whining about how we only beat Methodist institution by "x" points

Well, the SMU game is certainly not the marquee matchup we expected when announced this spring without Mundiay and Kennedy but still a respectable opponent compared to MVS.

My main takeaway was that if HMP gets in foul trouble it will be a long night for the Hoosiers, and you guys know teams will go at him early in Big Ten play. I always thought that one of Zeller's best attributes was that he knew how to "not foul" on defense. Hopefully HMP can be the same way this year.

It will be tough to not foul in the post if it is called the way it often was last night. Burton was called for merely holding his position when the MVSU post player lowered his shoulder into him.

I felt like out post players were patient with the ball and mostly strong with it last night. Not sure if they have changed their routine in practice by working with the post players with their back to the basket more (from what I hear Vonleh and Zeller worked facing the rim and attacking more) but I thought Hanner had a very coordinated and well executed post move in the first half, and actually April had a move in the second half that was well done as well. A right handed half hook in the lane.

I honestly never felt that our talented post players in the past ever really developed a post move.

That being said, if our post players simply prove adept at reacting to the dribble drive they ought to get a lot of good opportunities as we will be able to get in the lane against anyone if we move the ball...In fact, I think that we will be able to get in the lane without a ball screen if we move the ball well enough.

I have to say for the small crowd..the students were so loud but even more so with Priller....he reminds you of the hometown kid who always wanted to wear the stripes and nailed his dream!

So, what's up with the fan love for Priller? Just curious lol

He is just a bit awkward running, doesn't jump to block shots, has a nose for the ball, humble, desire like every kid from Indiana and that is why he doesn't get it ..he is from TX

Maybe I should have posted it differently. I like Priller, just curious why all the students go nuts anytime he touches the ball. Didn't know if I missed anything or not lol.

Probably because he's the ultimate underdog. And likeable in a goofy/awkward sort of way.

And if I recall correctly, even though he grew up in Texas, he was born in Indiana.
