I was in Cincinnati yesterday. Youngest daughter had her IU shirt on and I had my jersey/hat (women's game + football- gotta represent lol). We were walking by a counter- the cashier was swamped. She looked up and said "Cool- Hoosier fans! I'm an alumni myself!" I mentioned that we were outnumbered and she said (with 40 people around her) "Well, at least IU fans are respectable and pleasant. All I get here are Ohio State and UK fans, and they're awful." She realized how loudly she said it and kind of apologized to the line. Made my day!

A few years ago I was in St. Thomas and decided to go on a snorkling boat trip.  I am wearing an IU t-shirt and the boat captain yells "Go Hoosiers"  A conversation was struck and he was an alumni.  Sitting in a tropical paradise and he just went on and on about how much he loved Btown!

Saw an Indiana sweatshirt at lunch in Knoxville today near the UT campus. It was a nice change from all that awful orange

I took a group of teenagers to Buffalo Wild Wings last night in Kentucky and wore my IU cap and sweatshirt. The waitress commented on my cap and stated that she liked waiting on IU fans better than UK or UL fans because they are more respectful and classy---which I agree with from personal experience.

 

Of course she may have just been going for a bigger tip---but it is always good to hear positive things about IU and our fanbase!

Not really "around the country", but my church is having Santa's Workshop today. It's a craft fair where kids get to make gifts and things.
