Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Just chucking money at a popular NBA guy isn't going to automatically make you a successful program. Didn't say that, but they could have done a lot worse. The Lovie Smith thing is far off with this. Lovie had no other options but to come to college. Monty has plenty of interest. He got a raw deal in New Orleans too. With that said I think it is harder to come from NBA to college than vice versa. If your not used to the grind of recruiting non stop it can wear ya down and in the NBA their main focus is development. I find it funny he was just fired and they already have a rumor of a offer rejected. If they won the Rutgers game they would have probably been in and firing Groce then wouldnt have made sense. Kinda weird timing for this. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

I find it very confusing why Illinois tried to get him. Does anyone know how much the offer was?Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Brey is an amazing coach. One of the few that can compete year in year out against the big boys by not getting 5 stars but just kids that fit his style. Only loses Vasturia and Beachum who is from Fort Wayne smh. Bonzie & Farrell are gonna be enough to keep them in the national picture. Props to you Mike Brey.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app IUfan_Charlie 1 Quote

Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app It's mind numbingly bizarre up here in domerville. Domer fans don't appreciate him and a majority wouldn't mind if he left. But they think Crean is a good, solid coach. Quote
