I stayed up past my bedtime to catch some of the Nebraska vs UCLA game.  Alonzo Ball looked like a veteran and TJ Leaf was shooting lights out.  Looks like UCLA is for real.

When you keep getting that level of talent it's just a matter of time. No matter the coaching. And he is a better coach than he's giving credit for. Not great but much better than this board wants to admit. The down years I think is managing that chemistry of ball hogs.

Ball and Leaf go a long way in helping the chemistry.

That was bad.  The charges were ridiculous! Also, they lost the next 2 but just barely.  Tough stretch for my Trees!

They're not destroying us in the Hall, especially with this FW loss fresh in our minds. We will be focused, prepared, and chomping at the bit for the big upset.

I love us at home. UNC has size to punish us. If Berry gets hot from 3 then things will be tough.

They have numerous players that can hurt us. Berry, Jackson, Meeks, Bradley. Others with potential with Hicks, Williams, etc, etc.

For having "down" recruiting for several years by their standards they have a formidable team, even after losing 2 superstars.

Impressive.

They don't prefer to play a grind it out style of defense but they sure can. They beat wisky very badly at wisky' game.

I would say the pressure is higher at IU because when iu was down it was a packed house. They can't get people to show up at UCLA even when they are good

I agree. I watched a preseason UCLA game and I think they had about 150 people in the stands. Not the same animal ...

I think if you took this IU team/staff moved them a 100 miles and called them Hickory they would go far. I'm not sure they have the on court leadership to deal with the pressure that comes with playing at IU. This is NOT a knock on this team. Just an observation of what might limit this team. We need to change our recruiting model and start leaning on senior players more. This team with a couple of true seniors would be scary. The Hartman injury was huge.

Interesting thought. The star freshman model works, and especially when mixed with key returnees. But if you can't get them, senior leadership is the next best option.
