Apparently official. Always felt like a pretty poor fit, but would not have bet on just a stone fail.

Doing it now gives them that much more time to gauge interest, screen candidates and be ready to make an announcement just as soon as the next guy's season ends.  New guy can immediately hit portal season and spring AAU.

Absolutely. The portal changed this piece of the business as well. You have got to get your guy in place asap. But I remain a big Bruce Thornton fan, so if he wants to go ahead and jump in the portal I can think of a landing spot for him….

Miller apparently wants to get back to the big leagues but not sure if OSU wants that, I've heard Paris mentioned a lot but he's unproven.

The B1G is about to get a whole lot better.  OSU and UM aren't messing around this time.  We're in trouble.

Archie has zero chance there. They could do way worse than Paris. In fact, they probably will.

That tweet makes me want to walk right there. We’ve fallen so damn far. We’ve mismanaged a brand that would have easily been able to attract higher quality candidates than OSU. 
 

Look at that list. Nate Oats would be a similar hire for us as Kelvin Sampson, in regard to his upside here and the caliber of coach. 
 

This should be an extremely sobering moment for every single IU fan with crimson colored glasses.

McDermott is actually kind of a fascinating deal. His name comes up on every job and the guy has seemingly never entertained actually leaving and he doesn’t leverage it into extension after extension. Dude just seems perfectly happy where he is.

OSU has already hired Ross Bjork from Texas A&M, but your question still stands as he technically doesn't start until July 1. I can't imagine he won't have a say.

Am i misremembering or didn’t Greg have an agreement with OSU before they hired holtman that fell apart? He’s a great coach but he’s 60 so hopefully he doesn’t want to leave.
