Can confirm a major announcement from UE will happen Wednesday, presumably to announce the resignation or firing of Marty Simmons as Evansville basketball head coach.  I'll add this:  I have a good source that says Calbert Cheaney will be one of the first calls AD Mark Spencer makes as Simmons' replacement.

Kind of surprised at the backlash in Evansville over this... Marty never even made it to the NIT. The MVC isn't a terrible conference. Not saying you should be in the tournament every year but you should have a team every 3-4 years that should make it (look at UNI). Where is Calbert at right now? Last I checked he was at St. Louis.

Our friend shared her thoughts. FWIW,
I never liked how she and Troy got treated. She certainly brought some of that on herself, but she was just trying to defend her son.

Troy became a big enemy of the site after the Luke Fischer rumors came out.

Anyway, at least she is still a fan.

He left St Louis 2 years ago when Crews was fired.
