Gardner-Webb holds on 77-60 in Athens.  KenPom had Georgia with a 67% chance of winning, and an expected score of 74-70.

And Gardener Webb is really bad…2-7 against D1 teams with squeaker wins only over NC Central and W Carolina.

CTC has two in-state four stars committed; cannot imagine he’ll be there for either of them. His buyout is manageable for UGA. Wonder if they’ll open the big checkbook for basketball. There’s so much talent in Georgia now and they could be a big-time program if they ever decide to do so. Until then, IU will hopefully continue to poach one top 75 player per year from there.

Crean usually makes hay through recruiting. If he doesn’t have talent, I can’t imagine how bad that UGA team is. Some of you probably can, but I’ve successfully blocked his first couple seasons at IU from my memory.

Just noticed that the IU women play Maryland in SSAH at 3 p.m. Sunday -- arguably their most important game so far this season.

The men tip off at 4 p.m. at Penn State.

There are 168 hours in a week -- plenty of 2-hour windows available so they don't have to play at the same time. Granted, it's very likely COVID could win both games -- or at least, push them back. But the scheduling seems pretty ridiculous to me.

If you're trying to grow the women's game -- this isn't how to do it.

Not the Greatest slate tonight but some really good Mid major games.   One with IU interest is the Marshall/La Tech.   Marshall has struggled but if they can get it going in conference USA play that would help IU’s non conference schedule.   Marshall will have plenty of NET top 100 wins in conference play

IUPUI had to cancel tonight's game with Cleveland State and the New Year's Day game with Purdue Fort Wayne due to COVID cases on the team.

Though, given how bad the team is... maybe cancelling the season might be in order?

We should play Purdue Fort Wayne so we can get revenge. Lol. Hope we can get this season back on the rails.  Everyone needs college basketball.

Would definitely be nice to get back in the win column against in-state mid majors.  I was kind of hoping we would schedule Valpo as a replacement opponent this week for that reason alone.

Really good game going on UCF 55-51 against UM.  The crowd at UCF is very loud and helping UCF make this big run

Today's refs had no clue what a charge or block is.  A horrible charging on UM and Howard went out on the floor and got into the regs face.  That arc in the lane is the worst thing they have done to basketball.  The refs only look at the hat and not if the defender was there in time

Michigan may not be a tourney team. 7-5 overall, with 18 conference games left.

Lucky for them the B1G will have plenty of opportunities for them to turn it around but their wiggle room has become smaller.  All losses are top 50 teams so they really haven’t done anything to hurt themselves but at the same time did nothing to help them

But currently their best win is a pretty good but not really good San Diego State team.

Michigan is gonna have to do some work to get to 16-14. They’re going to be underdogs in their next four B1G games

And they still have two games per against Purdue, OSU, MSU, and Illinois

Yet, Lunardi currently has them seeded higher than us. As I said earlier, the Archie Miller effect.
