LIHoosier Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 If we shake the cobwebs a little bit, here are the experimental rules for the 2019 NIT. The longer 3 pt shot, wider lane, and 20 second reset were there last year; the big change is resetting fouls at the 10 minute mark of the half, eliminating one-and-ones, and implementing the NBA 'fouls under 2 minutes' rule. https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/2019-02-22/college-basketball-experimental-rules-be-used-2019-nit Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

As crazy as it sounds, we're either going to the tourney or nowhere at all...our schedule will be in our favor unlike in years past. Do I think we can beat MSU, Wisky, Rutgers at home, and Illinois on the road? Yes. Will we though? No and that's what it's gonna take.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app mamasa 1 Quote
Demo Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Watching Tennessee-LSU. 1st time I’ve really watched Tenn closely. They run ALOT of the same halfcourt stuff Archie runs. 2 differences: 1) Jordan Bone reads the secondary options better than Rob does at this point or Green ever will, and 2) if they have an advantage they readily break the play and attack it. It’s fun watching Jrs and Srs who really understand and react to what they’re seeing. Hollywood Mike Miranda, thebigweave, BGVille Hoosierfan and 4 others 5 2 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Forgot Virginia was playing at noon today. Turned it on at halftime -- Louisville was ahead by 10. We've got eight minutes left and the Cavs are now up by 2. Although the Cards just got screwed. They got called for a charge when the defender's foot clearly was inside the restricted area. Mack went nuts and got a T. They can review that call at certain points of the game, but not others? Makes very little sense to me. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 U.Va. -- down by 10 at halftime -- wins at Louisville by 12. ... Cavs are 32-3 in past 35 ACC games. I know it won't mean much unless they do anything in the NCAAs, but I think this is the year they turn the corner. HoosierFan1994 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Bob Huggins just shakin' his head over this. Down by one at Baylor with two minutes left, West Virginia gets T’d up for coming out of timeout with six men on the floor. Baylor now up 5 with a minute left. Quote
Hoosier Guy Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Being able to close out games is a sign of a mentally tough and well coached team. Purdue has it going right now Quote

HoosierFan1994 Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Went to Virginia -Louisville game today. A few takeaways: 1) KFC Yum Center is an awesome place for a game! I'm considering going to the Sweet 16 games in March. Sat up high and still had a good view of the court. 2) Louisville fans whine at everything. Same with Mack. However, I think he is a good fit and he will have Louisville back in the Final 4 sooner rather than later. Nwora is a stud that will be back with a stud freshmen class. I think he took in a couple grad transfers that made them better. I hope Archie can do that next year. 3) Virginia is a final four team. I think this is Bennett's best team. Hunter is a star. He took over in the second half, Jerome is a very good point guard who I think will play at the next level. Kyle Guy is a kid I wish Indiana would have gotten. He is a good rebounder for a small guard. Virginia also has 3 bigs they rotate and all had an impact today. They always play good defense but they move the ball really well. I usually pick Virginia to get upset early due to their offensive woes but I think this may be there year they get to a final four and win the whole thing. 4) Got a good kick out of the program. They had a page or two dedicated to the 2012 and 2013 teams and it said "later vacated". The banner is gone too! HoosierAloha, LamarCheeks and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
