ESPN just showed the non-con SoS for the Big 12 teams. Pathetic. Only two teams in the top 100. Most were 250 or worse. Greenburg called them out for trying to manipulate the NET rankings

Mr NIT calling anyone out for non-con scheduling is rich

I don’t like Greenberg, but he was right on this one. And it was funny to hear him say it aloud. He basically said they schedule a bunch of terrible teams and try and blow them out to pump up their efficiency numbers. And when half your conference is 300+ in SoS it isn’t a bad point.

IU has one quad two win that could fall to a quad three soon (home game against Ohio State) but also has a quad three win that could shortly move into quad two territory (Maryland).

Good thing about IU's 7 quad one losses is there isn't really any one right now in danger of falling to quad two anytime soon.

Theoretical but let’s say we won 1 or 2 of those quad one games, where do you think we are slotted for the tournament at this juncture?

No idea where they'd be slotted for the tournament, but pretty wild to think for as frustrating as this year has been... a few bounces go differently vs Kansas and Illinois and the narrative is completely different. Shoot, if we handled business like we should've vs RU too, we'd probably be sitting pretty. Coulda woulda shoulda... but didn't.

I'd personally be a lot more patient this year if I was more optimistic about who we are retaining/bringing in for next year. But they battled through adversity for a win tonight and that's always good to see.

Depends which games they would have won.  If it was against Purdue and road win against Illinois then they would be sitting in the 7-10 range.   Honestly any 2 wins against the 6Q1a games they played probably result in them being in that range.   If one of the wins was the Nebraska road game which is a Q1b game then probably 10- last 4 in range.    Margin between teams at the bottom of the bubble and teams not projected in is very small this year.   Bottom of the bubble is a mess

The Big 12 has long been expert at gaming the system. You don't have one really good but not truly great program so thoroughly dominate the league for so long if it is as deep and competitive as the metrics show it to be.

What is going on in Columbus?  Holtmann getting exposed?

I think they are having continuity issues.  Players graduated, two went pro, a couple more transferred.  They brought in Battle from Minnesota who seems to be one-dimensional player.  Holtmann is having a hard time getting them over the hump.

And despite being a football school they have expectations in Columbus.  Just making the NCAA tournament nearly every year isn't enough.  Matta was fired for 2 average seasons despite multiple FFs, numerous B1G regular season and tournament titles, etc.

Ummm, they weren't good last year.
