I have said our fans have been part of the problem and I am regfeting to fans like you. At every turn you take a chance to bash the coaches and players and maybe players and coaches don't want to play for fans like you. I have been told the fans have nothing to do with it so how are fans settling for mediocrity effect the team. We have had 6 coaches and 5 AD's in the last 23 years so I think that shows that no one has settled for mediocrity. Scott, it's not worth going back and forth about this stuff with younger IU fans on this board. We come from a different generation and see things differently. You will drive yourself crazy trying to explain yourself on here. IU Scott 1 Quote

Losing your man on a single play seems more like a brain fart to me. Getting beat on your home floor to a team THAT bad? It wasn't like they played bad and got beat on a last second shot. They were handled in the second half by a team that sits at 350 on Kenpom AFTER winning at Iowa. That's horrible. They followed that up by getting run by Nebrasketball before looking bad at Penn State for ~35 minutes. The Iowa loss itself isn't bad. Couple how it played out with what we've seen earlier in the season and it's bad. Add to that what Iowa looked like prior to that game and what we did in the first part of the first half. Ouch. I just take other things into consideration when viewing teams I guess. Strange things happen during finals week for some teams and as this proved it happened a lot to some high majors during that period. Not excusing it but there is a reason college coaches dread playing anyone that week. Yep they lost on the road the next game after that. Again for me that happens. For as bad as they played in those games people should probably give them credit for how well they played against Big 12 leading Iowa st, ACC leading Clemson and a road win against seton hall. Season is long and there is going to be ups and downs for almost every team. Iowa had a really low point that they will pay the price for having. hoosierbgh 1 Quote

But I guess we don't want to be in that company anymore. Well UNC and Duke this year are going through some problems. How bad does UNC have to to lose to such a sorry program like IU . Those two plus UK has as many if not more kisses than we do this year. When I say they go through the same problems I am talking about in the games. Like people complaining about how we shot against a certain team but they don't look at the fact that every team they played hasn't shot well. Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Arizona kind of having a tough week. Struggled past Washington at home, now down 11 in the second half to Washington State. **Not trying to compare us in any way, make any excuses or generalizations; just an observation. Some can look at things objectively and realize that all programs go through the same things. Some others just look at the team they supposedly are fans of and think we are the only team with those problems. I see people saying how we don't know how to face a zone just because some moron said so. Some just go with that theory because they want to have a reason to bash the coach. Like in 2016 where we lost to Syracuse people couldt believe how bad we did against their zone but they never look at that everyone that year struggled with their zone. We were once a blue blood, elite program that expected excellent. We are a washed up, has been program who has refused to adjust to what must be done and how it must be done to compete in this millennium. Has UCLA, puke, UNC, and Kansas settled like Indiana has settled? Would any of those programs continue to do the same thing with IU's results the last two decades? We are an average-at-best Big 1.o program with the remnants of a blue blood program (banners, fans, funding). I believe you meant 2013 when referencing Syracuse. Quote

IU Scott Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Wonder if this is the earliest in the big ten conference season without an undefeated team. After only 4 games there are no more undefeated teams. Quote

I could be off but believe their fall finals week game was against SEMO and the loss to E. Illinois was the week after finals. Unless Iowa has their finals later than almost all other schools. I guess we could say they started Christmas break early as an excuse though. Quote

Ryno6284 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Question for USPS, of the major conferences, who has the best refs? I don't watch nearly as much as you, but I would say the Big East. Quote
HoosierAloha Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Really glad we got Xavier when we did. Sean Miller has that team playing much better. Quote

Last year got some others and next year will get some others Quote
