You can video conference contract negotiations. Don't the players still have to vote on the proposed CBA? That'll have an effect on the free agent market along with current traveling restrictions.

I can't believe the season is just over like that. So many players played their last game without knowing it was their last game. I understand it needs to be done, but it sucks that those guys will never get this back after working their whole lives for it.

What a crazy, abrupt ending to the college basketball season. I would like to thank everyone that came along for the ride in this thread throughout the season. Some of us might have differences on coaching style, players, offensive and defensive philosophies but we all love the game of college basketball. As bad as it is for fans and the die hards fans to accept that we have watched our last college basketball game just think how hard this is on the players. Makes me sick to think about.

Yanni Wetzell lost every conference game last year with Vanderbilt, Grad transferred as a senior to San Diego St and had a magical year that was going to result in a 1 or 2 seed in the tournament. His career is over. Kids at Dayton go 29-2 with their only 2 losses in OT to Kansas and Colorado. Best year in the schools history that was going to result in a 1 or 2 seed and their season and mostly likely Toppin’s college career is over. We have talked about IU’s seniors and how gut wrenching that is for them. Just heartbreaking for some of these kids but the most heartbreaking for me has to be Cassius Winston. Loses his brother to suicide earlier in the year and I’m guessing playing the game he loves was a chance to get some normalcy. Life can be cruel and the fact that he got his last chance to play in the ncaa tournament ripped away from him in the same year he had to deal with that tragedy is heartbreaking.

 

The Sun will shine tomorrow and the next day and the next day and we will get college basketball back next year. Tough pill to swallow for sure but you have to take the positives out of the hand that is dealt. My kids have no school starting next week so a chance to spend quality time with my family.

 

So our college basketball season is over. Now it’s time to focus on the off season and recruiting(although not sure what happens with this). I look forward to talking hoops with you hoops junkies again next year

 

What the heck do normal people do in March? Lol

Have also heard that the Greencastle regional will be moving to Danville. That is the Beech Grove-Danville and Brebeuf Jesuit-Brownstown 3A group.

Ihsaa looks like they are moving forward tomorrow so basketball might be played still tomorrow
