Detroit Mercy is pretty bad this season, so had virtually no shot at the NCAAs. But the Titans were booted from their own conference tourney. Neither Mike Davis nor any of the players are responsible for this.

The quad system is just looking more and more flawed the longer the season goes. Wake has lost 11 of their last 13 games. Only North Carolina has a worse conference record. I don’t care where the game is played, that’s a bad loss. Trying to call a game at Wake a Quad 2 game, and compare it similarly to our Quad 2 game on a neutral court against Notre Dame, just doesn’t hold water. 

Not all Quad wins within a specific quad are equal. Committee will differentiate between the 2. The top 2 quads are broken down into a and b. So their loss was a quad 2 b loss and our neutral court win against Notre Dame is a quad 2a win. Point of the Quad system was to acknowledge that winning on the road and neutral court should be weighted more then winning at home. That goes for losing on the road and neutral courts as well. Teams won’t be hit as hard for losing road and neutral site games.

Oklahoma with a big win over Texas Tech on a neutral court. Oklahoma couldn’t afford to lose this one. Texas Tech resume is interesting. 15 in the NET and the numbers inside their team sheet suggest an 8 or 9 seed for me

NC State, Alabama, and Memphis all bubble losers tonight. Oklahoma with a much needed win against TTU. As USPS alluded to, TTU has a very interesting resume and could be competing for position in the 8/9 seed with IU.

Take away their 7 quad 4 wins against teams +240 and their record is 11-10. 3-9 in quad 1 games. And 2 wins against teams solidly in the field. 3 if you count Oklahoma
