I would say no... I would say NOBODY is a legitimate threat to go undefeated ever again.... not that it can't happen, but I don't see that...

With this specific Duke team they are too Freshman oriented and play a heck of a tough schedule. They will lose at least a couple.

I would say yes.

I don’t think there is any chance they go undefeated while playing in the ACC. Someone will get them in conference on the road. Playing their 1st true road game in January I think will end up hurting them.

I think the toughest games they have in the ACC is against Virginia. I wouldn’t give them great odds but better than any team in my lifetime.

if they did go undefeated through the ACC then they deserve it because that would be impressive. I thought the Kentucky team with Towns had the best shot since they played in a weak SEC you kind of knew they would make it to the tourney with no losses. I remember the game against A&M went to 2 or 3 OT so they were still some close games in SEC play. Notre Dame game in the elite 8 was a classic. I think if someone goes undefeated it’s coming from a team like Gonzaga that if they get through the non conference they are almost assured to enter tourney undefeated.

I think it’s a fine line of too tough of a schedule and a winnable schedule that prepares you for March/April. The reason I worry about Duke is they don’t play road games. They have games against tougher teams but teams they match up well against. Coaching plays a huge part in this and they have the best. Not only are they talented, but they are mature. KAT was not. Coach K has less leeway to outside distractions than Cal. Dukes schedule builds really well to conference. I think UV beats them but if Duke goes into those games undefeated I worry this year is the year.

You must be forgetting that Kentucky team, they had tshirts made about going undefeated in 2015s-l400.jpeg.2782932fac200efa9ab32c88b4f0c7bc.jpeg

No I did not and this Duke team is far better on paper and in talent than that team. Let alone coaching.

Edit: That UK team had one player that was young for his age with the potential to be an All-Star. With a bunch of players that would get drafted but didn’t have a set role. Duke has 2/3 future All Stars and 2 future faces of the NBA with players that have defined roles.

They are definitely better earlier then I thought they would be. I thought it would take some time. Scary to think they can get better but I want to see how they react to a little game pressure In a close game. I think Gonzaga when healthy is just as good

Illinois certainly plays hard without a lot of successful possesion. Playing Iowa St right now.

Illinois hits a 3 to cut the ISU lead to 16 with 4 minutes left.

Bill Walton’s analysis: “ Here they come!”

God I hate listening to that guy.

Mine is Kansas if they are clicking. I think they have the talent to compete. Not sure they can play as a cohesive unit enough to beat Duke. That Canada trip served them well.
