Uspshoosier Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 They won by 27 on the road. That can’t just be brushed under the rugStill a great win by Michigan just not a top non conference win like it was considered before. Furman is a good team. They have beaten 2 of the 4 final four teams from last year on the road(Loyola). Michigan will still get credit for a Quad 1 win Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app woodenshoemanHoosierfan and Myrmidon76 2 Quote

Buffalo and Western Kentucky are their losses. Not a good start Quote

Let's say Villanova finishes below .500 and in the bottom 3 of the Big East when it's all said and done. Does Michigan still get the same level of win even though it happened 3 games into the season and clearly they weren't as good as expected? Guess what I'm asking is can these tier wins be moved up and down a scale depending on the opponent's success/failure?Sent from my Pixel XL using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Muchigan may be good but this takes some of the shine off that win imo. I would say same if it was iu Sent from my SM-G920V using BtownBanners mobile app Definitely takes some shine off it. It would've taken some shine off it if Villanova had won in OT. coonhounds 1 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Definitely not a good start for preseason #13 team in the countryKey word there is preseason rankings. Hard to tell how a team will respond to losing key players from the year before. West Virginia was always going to have a hard time replacing Carter and Miles While not excuse for Nova to lose to Furman losing 4 guys to NBA was going to be hard to replace Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app thebigweave 1 Quote

Sent from my Pixel XL using BtownBanners mobile app All depends on how their NET rating ends up. They could be bottom 3 of the league and if their net ranking is 75 or below that win will be a quad 1 win. At worst unless nova completely lays an egg a win at their building will be a quad 2 win(76-135) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app woodenshoemanHoosierfan 1 Quote
JHoosier914 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 That pretty clearly says that Villanova is overrated. It doesn’t devalue Michigan’s complete domination of them thoughIf you’re calling them overrated then the win gets diminished SOME. Maybe not a lot, and only time willTell how much, but it has to devalue it some..Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Buffalo and Western Kentucky will have chances at at-large bids Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appWould love to see WKU get an at-large bid. Living near Bowling Green, KY, it’s a fun atmosphere, especially the last couple of seasons. They’ve got some decent non-con games (Washington (L), WVU (W), UCF tomorrow, @ Arkansas, St Mary’s and Wiscy at home). If they can get some of those and do well in C-USA, they definitely will vie for an at-large. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
