That was a fun game to watch. That Waters steal and over the head pass for a reverse dunk by Epps (?) was sweet.

Michigan has talent and a system that can win. I don't think they have a go to scorer. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman is good but I don't think he can takeover a game.

They're in the second tier of teams with Northwestern, Wisconsin, Maryland, and maybe Penn State.

Tomorrow is usually the time where I find out what channel Axis Tv is since most battle for Atlantis games are usually shown on it. Once it became popular ESPN started showing the day games. Evidently ESPN bought the rights to all of it but are only showing the late games and consolation games on espn3. So if you want to watch NC State/Arizona or Smu/Northern Iowa tomorrow you will have to stream it. Disappointing

I don’t see Iowa, Illinois, Ohio State, Rutgers, or Nebraska finishing ahead of us this year. I think it will be us fighting with Michigan, Maryland, Penn State, Wisconsin,  and Northwestern for the mid pack finish. Michigan State, Minnesota, and Purdue are ahead of everyone.

University of Missouri freshman forward and likely top-five pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Michael Porter Jr. will likely miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season after he undergoes surgery on Tuesday in Dallas, Texas, the school announced Tuesday in a press release.

“I really appreciate the support of my family and the Mizzou Men’s Basketball program as I begin this process,” said Porter Tuesday. “I’m thankful for all the kind words and messages I’ve received from fans. Those mean a lot to me. I cannot wait to be completely healthy and playing the game I love, once again.”

The procedure, a microdiscectomy of the L3 and L4 spinal discs, has a projected recovery time of three-four months and will likely cause him to miss the remainder of the season. Porter is expected to make a complete recovery.

“Our top priority as a program is the well-being of our student-athletes, so Michael beginning this process to be 100 percent healthy is important to all of us,” said Missouri head coach Cuonzo Martin. “Our focus has been on Michael’s well-being, just like every other player in our locker room. We will continue to work every day to build Mizzou Basketball into a program to be proud of. We’re preparing now for a trip that is a tremendous opportunity. I’m excited to get after it in Orlando.”

Before the announcement, Porter had missed Missouri’s last three games with a back injury. As a recruit, Porter was ranked as the No. 2 player in the Class of 2017 per 247Sports and is projected to likely be a top-five pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Despite the speculation that Porter will go “One-and-Done”, he told reporters in October at SEC Media Day that he may stay multiple years.

“He will come back but it’s 50-50 as to the level of his return whether he’ll be the same as he was pre-injury,” New York Chiropractor, Dr. Craig Fishel told Adam Zagoria on Tuesday. “That is most likely not going to happen, probably 90% of himself and subject to re-injury and residual problems ongoing.”

They still get younger brother and a coach who is willing to play the game. So who knows maybe they still win but the whole thing just rubs me wrong.

If I were an NBA exec I would be very cautious especially with the medical prognosis that at best 90% of his former ability and subject to re-injury and residual problems ongoing. That seems like a lot of risk vs reward? I know he was supposed to be good, and he is young so could heal up fine but if I am an exec I want him to show me by playing 1 more season in college.

That’s why I don’t always agree with NBA teams drafting on potential instead of proven ability. I know it goes both ways but I would have to think long and hard before drafting a player coming off an injury

End of Lottery? I would take the chance. Top 5? No way unless his medical and testing were pristine.
