Lunardi's latest:  IU a 2 seed in the South Region opening at Indpls.

I know this is WAY WAY to early to hold any weight but this would be amazing.... Not only would IU have the easiest path of all the 2 seeds (weakest 3 in my opinion), but also play through Indianapolis... while at the same time having UK play through Indianapolis, IU fans would be huge fans of whomever UK was playing against (potentially Fort Wayne)....

However this has the BIG getting 8 teams in which I believe is a stretch, and the ACC getting 10 which is also a stretch.

Agree, except I still believe at the end of the year Duke will have the team to beat.  St. Mary's is the weakest of the 3 seeds in that scenario and that would be a good matchup.  Playing in Indy would be awesome!

From HoopDirt, all is not well at our regional campus in Kokomo.

Jace Thompson, head coach of IU Kokomo’s men’s basketball team, has been suspended pending the outcome of a prompt and effective investigation. Because this is a personnel matter, no additional details will be released.  Thompson is in his fifth season at IU Kokomo. His squad is currently 4-6.

Additionally, Whitney Farris, head coach of IU Kokomo’s women’s basketball team, resigned from her position.

More on the situation at the school as it develops.

I go here, haven't heard anything about it. Then again, I don't follow the basketball teams anyways.

Jok is all Iowa has, they struggle when he goes for a breather.  Hope OG picks him up off the bus and doesn't leave him until he's tucked into bed.

Tyler cook is out right now He is a pretty good freshman.

Solid home win for the fighting Peter Jok's over instate rival Iowa St.  Continuing on the theme, helps the B1G.  At one point, a few games ago, Iowa and St. John's were the only major programs with losing records.  (I'm 90% sure on this stat but it would have been another team besides St. John's)

I think Iowa can be pretty decent by the time February arrives.  They're really young and can score the ball, but rely a lot on Jok and a freshman PG is always a crap shoot.  However the defense has been pretty bad (which can probably be said about 70% of the teams in America).  Once Cook returns, they'll be dangerous though.

With the exception of 2 years if Indiana States bball history, I have paid little to no attention to them. I see where the nickname Trees comes from, but its a surprise to me to see the name used.

I can guess most of you know the 2 seasons I reference.

Ahh yes, the golden years of 1946-48 under John Wooden.

Be important for Newkirk to disrupt their PG as well, keep him from getting Jok the ball easily.
