The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette had a predicted order of finish for the Big Ten today and had the Badgers 12th. It was pretty surreal to see them that far down the list. I think they'll finish higher than that, but it's still pretty crazy how far they've fallen.

Wake wins at Lsu. The wake game was a missed opportunity for a sneaky top 100 win. It would of been a win like the Pittsburgh game last year. At the time beating Pitt at home didn't look impressive but they ended up being a top 50 rpi team.

PUke defeats Wisky 61 - 55.  Took control of the boards in the second half and outrebounded Wisky by 10.   PUke was sloppy with 16 TO's and Wisky had 7 steals.

MSU went in there as 3 point dogs, so it wasn't too unexpected. But man, they spanked 'em. Izzo had nothing.

It will be interesting to see Max guarding the bigs for pu.  They hook and swing their elbows often.  I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see them pickup offensive fouls in the Hall.

What killed them early last season was Hammons and Haas frequently getting in foul trouble. I think they benefitted from Big Ten officials and their "no blood, no foul" method of officiating games.

BIG wins for Iowa and Purdue today. Just the start of the roller coaster ride that is Big Ten basketball.  It's going to be a wild year and the only thing predictable in the Big Ten is the unpredicitability of the conference race.  It's wide open this year---especially since MSU is starting short-handed due to DV's injury.  It's important for our Hoosiers to get off to a a good start. It really is anybody's race.

5 stars Cheick Diallo and Carlton Bragg played 8 and 9 minutes respectively in a noncon game/UC Irvine.

Proud that Self plays his best players but it's also shocking he stockpiles so many 5 stars considering this. You'd think you could negative recruit this like crazy.

It had nothing to do with the outcome of the game, but I saw this morning that Izzo's father passed away on Monday.

Rough day for Izzo---has to have an effect when you are trying to coach knowing your father's situation.

 

Izzo is a winner.  MSU traditionally starts slow (especially now with the injury) ---but they will be factors come March.  I want to see that kind of improvement with IU!
