They cut the field down this year and looks like they got rid of the auto bid for the top 2 net teams from B1G and Big east

Went from a 16 team field down to 8 this year

Joe Tipton -

Baylor guard Isaac Williams IV has signed a two-year deal to remain at Baylor and finish his career in Waco. The 6-1 sophomore averaged 10.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game this season.

First time I've seen anything like this mentioned.  Anyone else?

Yea, the quarterback from UNC did it last year and then tried to bolt for Miami this offseason anyways which I think is currently the subject of a lawsuit.

A few weeks ago, I read that Purdue's quarterback had signed a new contract to remain at Purdue. I was very happy to read that.

On the bright side, for those that don’t like all the portal-ing, this is a good thing.  Locks up players on to a team.

I think one year deals are most common, but there are some multi-year ones.  And these contracts are getting hard to break.

ya I really dont blame the universities for wanting to create contracts. Its a smart move. Just weird to see it written and posted from a news source, certainly new and oncoming for sure

If you truly want to develop players then contracts are a must.  Otherwise, you'll spend a year developing them and then they'll bolt for the bigger buck.

Bingo. I think its much much needed. Its just crazy to see it in writing lol.
