Season Prediction

I am always hopeful before the season starts but I am usually disappointed. Over the last 22 years we have had only 3 or 4 good seasons. IU has mostly been irrelevant on the national radar. The early polls don't have IU in the top 40 so I guess this will be another long painful affair. Will Crean survive another year like last year?

This season can go either way we could surprise everybody and do great or stink and crean could b done. We r off to a horrible start and havent had a exhibition but definitely room to spin this negative into a positive and use it as motivation and focus. Cant wait to see what happens and glad my name isn't Tom crean lol

I wouldn't mind my name being Tom Crean. Paid 3+ million per year and if he is released he'll get another lump of money. Plus, he'd still land an attractive job somewhere.

He does have his hands full this year but financially he has zero worries.

I think if everyone can get/stay healthy and eligible we will way exceed expectations and be better than last year.  The DD situation is scary---both for his health and how important he is to the inside game of the team.

The lump sum may be a lot less than what's in his contract. Lots of lawyer talk but when 40% of your team has had alchohol related arrests or citations since February 2014, his employer has cause. This would be the cheapest way out for Indiana since it would be 12 big ones otherwise. Momentum is building.

The tough thing is, we as BTBanners had turned a corner and the majority of us had again become optimistic about this season. This is a setback to the team first and foremost and to us fans as well. Plus it's a major blackeye nationally for our program.

We must overcome! I want the INDIVIDUALS on this team to become better men and compete their behinds off all season. I honestly will take whatever W/L record we finish with if our players try their best and keep clean.

My expectations and sense of priorities have been reset.

Do they? Is any of the contract publically discoverable since he is a state employee? I'm pretty curious what constitutes "cause"

Agree with most of your post WayneFleek---it is a blackeye to our program due to cumulative nature of incidents. I still expect the team to win  ----no more excuses there----and I will wait for further facts to come out before making conclusions on this latest incident.

I would love to type up a few paragraphs on what needs to happen for us to be great in the B1G, but i'll keep this short.

 

We're going to need Hanner to play HUGE this year. If we don't get much from him besides fouls and turnovers, it's going to be a long year. James and Yogi will lead us, along with Troy and Stan. We have the speed and guards, just need some smart play and interior scoring/defense. 

 

With the loss of Holt and Davis for however long, there's going to be a much bigger focus on our guard/perimeter play. 

 

I've said this before, Crean's seat is warm, if we don't make the big dance this year, let alone the NIT, Crean may be gone.. but that's just my opinion.
