Who in God’s name did Flagg pi$$ off at New Balance? They look like Steve Carell’s  shoes in Crazy, Stupid, Love that Ryan Gosling threw off the mezzanine.

They kinda look like a pair of New Balance I now use to mow the grass in from time to time.

Looks like Chauncey Billups, the coach of the Trailblazers, also got busted.

Sounds like Billups is related, but more tied to a poker operation. Feels sort of like the train is off the tracks here. Unfortunately it probably needs to happen.

Not the first time for Rozier but Billups was tied to an illegal operation with the Mob?

That could be multiple degrees of separation. In other words, Billups has a guy that he gambles with and gives information to.

That guy has a guy who is somehow tied to an LCN guy.

In any event, this is the kind of thing where Billups takes a no jail time/community service plea that requires cooperation so that the investigation can move up the ladder.

Is there a "dead man's hand" involved?

A lot of details are coming out.  "A detention memo said the games were rigged through sophisticated cheating technology, such as altered card shuffling machines, hidden cameras in poker chip trays, special sunglasses and X-ray equipment built into the table to read the cards of unsuspecting players."  I guess one night in Vegas with an "altered card shuffling machine", he won so many hands that he was told to lose a couple to not draw suspicion that he was cheating.  There are 4 mob families tied to it with 35 people arrested.  Rozier and Billups have been put on leave.

Sure, that explains the gambling scheme. Haven't looked for what Rozier or Billups' exposure is, but the quoted stuff above sure ain't it.

Edit: Looks like the charges state that Rozier was indicted for giving inside game info to bettors.

Billups is accused of being a celebrity insert at card games to lure in big money playes so that they could be fleeced.

Time and defense attorney counter-arguments will tell.

If I'm reading correctly, Billups is one of apparently a few high profile people that played in the games and were used to lure regular people in to get robbed essentially. Don't know how he and Rozier are connected, but one of the allegations against Rozier is something along the lines of "told the mob he was going to exit a game early, mobsters put a LOT of money on his unders, he exited after 9 minutes, they made tens of thousands, and there was some sort of money exchange at Rozier's residence."

Rozier pulled himself out of a game in late 2023 for an "injury", and he told his childhood best friend before the game who sold that information to someone for $100k.  Out of the 35 arrested, 3 were in both the poker and the sports betting scheme.  I totally believe that stuff like this happens more than we know.

"Jones allegedly sold information on a prominent player's injury to sports bettors while he was an unofficial assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers in February 2023.

The indictment said that Jones was either a teammate or coach of the player, unnamed, while Jones played on the Cavaliers and coached for the Lakers. That relationship allowed him access to "non-public information" about that player's medical status on Feb. 9, 2023, when the Lakers were playing the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jones allegedly texted his co-conspirator that the player would be out that night and to "Get a big bet on Milwaukee tonight before the information is out!" according to the indictment.

LeBron James, power forward for the Lakers, was out that night due to a sore left ankle and foot, according to a game recap."
