Embiid in the top 5 is nuts. I don’t care how good you are, dude’s averaged 55 games a year for his career and you cannot be a top 5 player missing 1/3 of your games.

I'm with ya.  But apparently the "voters" in the article have a different(warped) view.  lol

Woj leaving ESPN to GM an A-10 school. I assume St Bonaventure is his Alma mater. Good for him.

It is. His feed was hilarious because in between 9-figure NBA free agent news, you'd also get a random Bonnie tidbit.

NBA season starts in less than a month! Really excited. Wish I didn't have to give money to Bally Sports again, but whatever I suppose. Getting a training camp of Hali/Spicy P should help. Hali was hopefully able to rehab. I love Jarace, hope he gets some consistent run, his body type is the exact one that no one else on the roster really has and having a solid piece there is what they were missing last year.

Do have to shout out the NBA. Found a way to screw the Pacers. They got chosen to be the team the Spurs play twice in Paris. Only team to lose a home game. Spurs aren't gonna be bad either, so not like ypu can argue that.

Should be able to beat the Spurs. Outside of Wemby and Castle that roster is put together terribly. But I am sure the NBA will have a hand in it and Wemby will ball out in France.

Vassell is a legitimately good NBA player. Sochan is solid as long as he doesn't play point. CP3 is old but they have a legit point guard out there now. Not to mention they still have Tre Jones. So they'll always have at least solid point guard play. Not saying they'll make some huge leap, but they're a solid team, ala Houston last year

Pops will continue playing Sochan out of position, acting like he's Magic Johnson. Vassell is a positive for opposing teams. Because he will keep the ball away from Wemby.

So we don't really have a place to put WNBA stuff, so I think its appropriate to put it here. If not feel free to move this post somewhere more appropriate or whatever,

Why does the WNBA have the worst playoff model in all sports? Whether you prefer series or one and done. This is the worst. A 2-1 where the lower seed gets no guaranteed home game is ridiculous. I don't love the 1-1-1 model, its better though. I'd argue a 1-2 model is better.

Its probably my fandom of the Fever but the team with the top attendance not getting a home playoff game is so dumb. Its not even like it was a situation where they just happened to make it because someone had to. Once they got rolling they were a legit good team.

The W needs to address a number of things moving forward. Now that they have a healthy revenue stream, what will they do with it.

The garbage media tried to create a false narrative and division amongst the players. Especially the ROTY discussion, was both sad and laughable. Hell, even the Connecticut crowd sounded like a Fever home game. But you nailed it, it's hard to call it a playoff "series" when one team doesn't have the opportunity to defend their home court.

PS- Aliyah had a monster game last night.

I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about the narrative/s around CC. Granted I am a fan Basically it came down to I was off put by a lot of media people with their coverage of CC and through that of the Fever.

So, ESPN is cutting loose Zach Lowe and giving Stephen A Smith 25 mil a year. I really don’t know what to say to that.

Who knows what to say about ESPN anymore

They use to do that in the NBA and the first time the Pacers ever made the playoffs they lost 2-0 at Philadelphia

They used to use a 1-2 format. Tamika Catchings' first playoff game was a home win followed by two losses on the road. In 2010, they switched to 1-1-1. I'm not sure when they went to the current format, but it is ridiculous. Not only is a lower seed not hosting a game wrong, but the lower seed potentially hosting the decisive game seems wrong as well.

100%

Either way you slice it, none of it makes sense.
