As a Pacers fan and a LeBron fan, that was a foul by Lance. Refs should have got it right in the first place.

Pacers really let a golden opportunity slip away tonight.

Based off what moyemayhem just posted it sounds like the refs had it as a foul from the beginning, but the commentators thought it was a jump ball and confused everyone.

It was called a foul on Lance by both refs when it happened, which was obviously the correct call. Somehow Webber and Marv missed that and said it was a jump ball (refs never made that signal), and confused the hell out of everyone. The review was for a potential tech, but nothing ended up being called.

The ref you could see on TV 100% called a jump ball. That was my biggest issue, was what makes one ref’s call overthrow another’s.

Oladipo lost the game.  I strongly dislike Cleveland, but I think that was a clear foul on Stephenson. I mean, he legit pulled Green down to the ground.

Pacers had a chance, but for some reason, stopped the ball movement.  Oladipo...man...not sure what he was thinking with some of those shots.

NBA refs suck. There's no way these are the best they can find. They've been terrible all season

So would a lineup of Vic, Bogey, Thad, Damo, and Turner even work? It probably would have been the most effective. Cavs never really had an answer all game for Turner or in the second half once Damo got going

He has been doing it all year, Lance does it too... its just more magnified now because the playoffs, and we clearly had better options all night

I'm just confused by the senior head of reviews, cause he came on and said on said foul the other said jump ball. And his phrasing made it out like the headlock was the foul, if anything the wrapping around which came well before the headlock should of been the foul call. Guess the refs are clueless from the butt to the head

I don't think they even knew what they were going to call, honestly. I know it seems suspicious that Lebron's team just so happens to get the favorable call at the end of the game, but I really think that it was more referee incompetence than it was favoritism.  I might just be paying more attention now than in years past,  but I've noticed that the refs have been quite bad this year, even when I'm watching a game that I'm indifferent about.

I thinks its been bad for a while.

The biggest issue is from crew to crew the difference in how they call things. One crew a block/charge is almost always a block, the next crew it is the exact opposite, then the next crew it is sometimes a block then other times a charge.

The one that gets to me is the hitting guys on the wrist/elbow/forearm after they released the ball as well as the giving guys space to land after they shoot the ball. Tonight was horrible, there were a couple of times James thought he got fouled when he had little to no space to land on a jump shot, and late in the game Turner thought he got hit on the forearm on a corner three. Those calls feel like they should universally called one way, yet they aren't

The NBE is getting what they want. It's been like that for years and will continue to be like that. It makes for great entertainment which drives up the value. Win win win unless you actually like true basketball.

A timeout without possession.

When was the last time LeBron actually put the ball down before traveling?

(Wade, Bron Bron, Isiah Thomas, Chris Paul, the beard, almost every decent player picks the balk up and walks before putting it down). Lance got called for it.

That travel and Oladipo going into witness protection cost the game.

It must be nice to have the NBE or NFL rooting (and doing what they can) to ensure your legacy. Hence, the Pacers not winning a series until Oladipo becomes a bigger star.

Not a good day for our IU guys.  I'm afraid the fat lady has started warming up her vocal chords in the Pacers series unless Vic gets his shooting touch back.........!

I stand corrected... either way, I think they got it right in the end.  I've definitely seen instances where two refs blow the whistle and make different calls.  Normally they would huddle up, discuss it, and come to a decision.  I doubt with under 2 minutes they are allowed to use replay to aid that decision process, since standard fouls and jump balls normally aren't reviewable.  I still think they were going to replay to see if there was a tech, since there was a little scuffle afterwards.
