Most top draft picks go to UK or Duke or UNC or somewhere. And most #1 picks had at least a cpl guys worthy of at least trying out for a NBA team.

I understand that... But 9 wins man. The kid's team went 2-16 in the conference. If I'm a GM and I'm using a #1 pick on a kid I expect better than that. I'd rather trade the pick for multiple 1st rounders and use them in a package for a star, like Ainge will probably try doing.

Yeah to get Jimmy Butler or Paul George. Go read twitter. Both Pacers and Bulls wanted more than just a #1 pick. Also Ainge said he planned to keep IT and Bradley and felt Jackson fit his team better if they did end up keeping pick. Both the Lakers and Kings picks have protections too so if they arent a top 5 pick...most Sixers fans could care less.

I have yet to see Danny Ainge come out and say Jackson fit his team better. That would kind of kill his leverage in a trade. No? Congrats to you as a Sixer fan. This started with your "lol at those people blah blah Sam Hinkie." Which this hasn't really changed much. Let's see what they gave up to jump from 3 to 1. Then let's see if they can actually start winning before the lol's. Fultz is a really good talent. But that talent came from a 9 win team that Danny Ainge passed on. I don't care who you have on your team. If there is a transcendent talent there if he saw that he takes him.

Exactly. Most teams competing for a title would do the same. Just the Cavs did with Wiggins. But if your still building it is a better plan like the Sixers are. Klay Thompson's WSU team wasnt too hot and he is doing okay for himself.

Did you not read anything I just said? Celtics guys are saying Ainge tried to get Butler and Bulls said no. Said they wanted more so he went and got more. Also plans to keep IT and Bradley who averaged 25 a game against the Cavs and is an elite defender so no need for Fultz. Need a wing guy like Jackson more than Fultz. Before Sixers offered this trade there was a reason the Celtics only worked out Fultz lol. Yeah he thought he was so bad he didnt care to even look at other prospects till the last week when the talks started to take place.

Obviously you haven't read what I have been writing either. Have a great night and enjoy the trade! Oh and btw. Josh Jackson cancelled his visit last week. Before the trade was being discussed in depth. The Celtics will be picking blind if they go Ball or Jackson unless they can get either in this week.

Yeah and I said nothing when I mentioned all the picks Hinkie got for nothing months ago while everyone told me he was a horrible GM. Then I couldnt say it will turn into the #1 pick. Without the pick swap even we pick 5th. I would have been fine w Jackson honestly, but I have followed Fultz for years. Sorry got a little excited when it was announced. If he ends up somehow a bust I am glad we at least made the moves to try to move away from rebuilding. We do still have a crap ton of money to spend if it fails. Ainge didnt hold a press conference saying this it was more tweets from beat writers saying Ainge wanted to keep IT and Bradley which made it hard to want to get Fultz. But also knew the talent he is and knew he could get picks needed to get a star. Like I said smart move for both teams.

The Celtics could end up with Romeo Langford because of this trade. If the Lakers record yields a pick between #2 and #5 next year, the Celtics get it. If not, they get the kings' pick in 2019. That could be Romeo.
Thomas, Romeo and Jackson, coached by Brad Stevens. Would be something.

They wont be picking 3rd. It will be Bulls or Pacers. This trade was discussed after the lotto selection it just now got steam. Celtics love Jackson. I believe they should have worked out all the top 4 guys tbh. Thought it was weird that they didnt.

It is a great rise for the kid. JV in 2014 to top pick in 2017. Hope the kid balls out and Embiid stays healthy. Definitely will be good for the league. I worry about players that don't have a winning background. Let alone a player coming off of a 9 win season in college. Hopefully they surround him with some veterans. It will be interesting to see how they do things with Simmons and him.

Forgetting Jaylen Brown as well. Talks have said both the picks will be at least top 3 protected tho. If picks fall in the top 3 is when it could be a bad deal for Celtics. I believe Lakers pick is theirs and maybe Kings but they are the Kings.

I doubt Boston takes Jackson when they have Jaylen Brown. I think Fox is more likely.

Seems like a good kid. I get the concerns. 9 wins is 9 wins. Not even a lack of talent can excuse that as much as I tried. I just think that was on Romar more than him. I am more worried about Simmons than Fultz honestly. I PRAY Embiid stays healthy too. He is better than both Simmons and Fultz IMO. It will be a fun offseason. Crazy Celtics, Lakers and Sixers are the top 3 picks. Even tho Celtc are in it from Nets. I love LeBron but excited for the youth movement of the East and the downfall of the Warriors to come in 2-3 years.

Thompson's teams weren't great, but in his three years they were 17-16, 16-15 and 22-13. Nothing to hang your hat on but still much better than 9-22. He wasn't a #1 pick either, or even a top 5 pick.

Don't get me wrong. With Embiid, Simmons and Fultz they're going to have a trio of three very talented young players. If things pan out then they could be a force in a few years. I just don't think it's likely that they do. Embiid has only played 31 games in three years and he has had the kind of injuries that derail promising young big men. Simmons also just missed an entire year with foot problems.

With all that I hope that it works out for Philly. In a few I won't have anyone to root for so I'll just be looking for good basketball to watch. Hopefully that includes the Sixers.

The deal is #3 and the Lakers pick protected. So we keep either Lakers or Kings pick which both will be at least top 10 and we still have our own picks those years too. Worse case he is a bust and we get at least 3 lotto picks the next 2 years. People forget Okafor averaged 18 a game on 55% shooting his rookie year. Last year was a down year but if Embiid cant stay healthy it isn't the end of the world. It would suck immensely though as he has made being a Sixer fan fun the last few years just from his twitter lol.

Jackson's gotta be the guy they want (or trade for an established star). They didn't want another guard, otherwise they would have just taken Fultz.

Lol at the guys on here telling me Sam Hinkie sucked at his job. Got us Simmons, Fultz, Embiid, Saric, Covington, McConnell, TLC, Furkan & Holmes. Great night to be a Sixer fan. Pacers should really try to convince him to come there. Kings and Magic tried but their both messes. Pacers at least have PG he could do wonders in a trade with and Turner to build around.

I'v never seen a fan base convince themselves so fully that a bunch of guys who can't stay healthy are proof they are gonna be great going forward

As a Celtics fan, a few thoughts on this...

1) I have to believe Danny just isn't sold on Fultz, he better be right

2) With that said, while this is a deep, talented draft, there is not a LeBron, Durant, Anthony Davis, etc. There's no player that if you draft them you automatically are set for 10+ years. At best Fultz is a John Wall, Kyrie Irving, etc., and while Irving won a title with LeBron, and they're both great players, you're not competing for titles just because you have Irving and Wall. They're not all-time, historical greats.

3) I'll be ticked if the larger plan here is flipping all these picks to get Jimmy Butler and sign Blake Griffin. That team while good, definitely doesn't get you a title against the Warriors, and probably doesn't even get you by Cleveland.

4) I'll be happy if this is just because Danny loves Josh Jackson and he took advantage of the Sixers for the extra picks, or if somehow he's figured out that Anthony Davis might be available and he's acquiring assets for that. Not probably, but I can hope on Davis.

This either needs to be a play for a mega-star, or just that Danny loves Jackson and thinks he's the best player. I'd hate to see trading Jaylen Brown, some other pieces, and the #3 pick for Jimmy Buter. That would bum me out. Either go big with something we're not even seeing yet (Davis) or keep the young players and build with them around Horford, IT, etc.

Because just like if it was an IU player most of us would know if there was a shot of them coming back. Sixer fans know Simmons was held out for precautions. Embiid is the only guy I am worried about and if somehow he doesn't come back then we use some of the 50 million in cap space to get a big to build around Saric, Simmons, Fultz and others. Like I said above if Embiid stays down this year or we pull a T Wolves we get another good pick next year. Sixers have assets to make moves if they need too. I dont get why anyone who is going to say anything at all doesnt realize the Sixers have backup plans. Richaun Holmes started in place of Embiid last year and did amazing.

As a Pacers fan, you should be more worried about your own team than Sixer fans. You got one more year of PG unless the Pacers are smart and actually try to get something for him. His value gets worse everyday he is still on Pacers. Please don't say he is gonna re sign either. Everyone knows he will be a Laker if he reaches FA.

Neat, cause everything from the Pacers camp is that PG is still committed to winning here, the reason he would leave is if we have another season like this one, but hey the media's narrative driven dribble probably should be taken for nothing but the truth. It is 100000000% guaranteed he is gone.  I'm gonna go ahead and listen to the people I know who actually have connections over the media wanting the Lakers to not suck balls anymore.

Lol at the Holmes comment. When you're team sucks so bad because you're banking on injured guys then someone has to get the numbers. This applies to Saric too.
