The paranoia from the Pacers fan base about everyone being out to get the Pacers is palpable. Some much whining about teams resting guys against other teams then not resting against the Pacers. So freaking whiny

I can't figure out why so many fans desperately want the 8 seed. PG is still too rusty for this team to have any chance against Atlanta and some of the comments I've seen lead me to believe many Pacer fans don't fully grasp how good Atlanta is. I think when PG came back, it made a lot of fans think it's like he was never out and the team is ready for a deep run when that's nowhere close to being the case.

Also, the Pacers are in this position because of what the Pacers have done. Not because other teams are/aren't playing their starters. If you need help to make the playoffs in the East, you probably don't deserve to go anyway. And if you know you're going to suck, then you tank. You don't try to be the worst playoff team. They should have kept Hill and West out for half the season and used the lottery pick to make the team better. Instead, they're going to end up with the 15th pick in the draft, a quick exit from the playoffs and more fans screaming to get rid of Hibbert (regardless of performance).

I'd add in that some of my stance is when PG went down I didn't want to make the playoffs. Perfect time and draft to be bad and get a good young player. Just to add on to what you're talking about, I think some think the roster is good, when really outside of PG, GH,and maybe Solo going forward the roster isn't actually good.

Then you add in the people who keep saying the draft is a crapshoot (it isn't) and that drafting in the lottery doesn't guarantee anything. I don't get the logic of wanting the 15th pick and getting our asses handed to us as compared to getting the 9th pick. You're going to get a much better pick at 9 than 15, about 90% of the time

What's the scenario for the Nets to make it at this point? Or are the Pacers locked into the 8 seed?

If the Pacers lose and the Nets win, Nets make playoffs. If Pacers win, they make playoffs. If the Nets and Pacers both lose Pacers own the tiebreaker.

Thanks man. I just looked at the schedules. Looks like bad news for the Pacers...
