I know how I feel about this:

It is a bad idea and it could turn off some teams that might potentially otherwise be interested.

NBA teams want to win and they are looking to find players that can contribute. If that is VO then between his resume, his agents, and his healthy time last season in the G League he was already on their radar. What they don’t want is a role player that writes pleading public letters.

Yeah, I feel sad seeing this.

IMO, there's no NBA market for VO and the letter comes off as a desperate move by a guy who had bad injury luck and regrets passing on some amazing contracts betting on himself. It's really unfortunate and obviously has to be tough to accept. I just hope he finds his path in the basketball world once he comes to grips with his playing days being in the rearview.

A 30 mil fine for Balmer is the functional equivalent of docking his allowance. I suppose the 5 1’s aren’t nothing but is seems to me they should be allocated to Toronto since they were the one’s unable to match the under the table stuff and lost the player.

And no suspension for Kawhi which seems insane. 5 1sts is a justified hit though and will hurt unless Toronto goes through with the trade and Clips can reclaim some of their loss.

Lawrence Frank -- the team president -- was banned for six months.

He's an IU guy. Kind of Dusty May before Dusty May. Was a manager in the late 80s-early 90s under Knight. Went on to coach the Nets and Pistons.

Was in one of my classes.

The most boring team in the world since Lob City disbanded getting dragged is the good stuff. Plus the Pacers absolutely won that trade in hindsight. Zubac is the man and I’m not convinced Wagler ever becomes a meaningful NBA player.

No suspension for Kawhi but he did receive a $700,000 fine and his agent (who is also his uncle) has been banned from representing players and the NBA,

Basketball

Kawhi made 21 million from Aspiration alone, so a $20.3 mil net gain doesn't sound too bad from his end. And while the Uncle Dennis ban probably stings because its family, he was already fired after all this became public earlier this summer.

Silver knows a slap on the wrist to Kawhi would avoid going to arbitration from the NBPA. Glad the Clips got hit with the picks, as the onus to not pay ultimately falls on the franchise. Only other harsh punishment could have been a void of contract but that would have meant arbitration.

Yeah, we all love Cubes, but he shanked this one about as badly as it can be done.

Yea.  I don’t know why he jumped in on this one… he is a bit of a know it all sometimes.

It was entertaining though.
