IU vs North Texas Post-Game Thread

Recommended Posts

3-1 OOC record.  Should have been 4-0 but 3-1 is the best OOC run we've had so far under Wilson.  Need 3 conference wins now.  It is possible.  Personally I think beating Iowa next week is critical.  It is a road game but they are definitely down.  I'd feel pretty good sitting on 4-2.

We should win that game. Not saying we will. But we should.

A lot of young faces getting increased playing time on D, and performing fairly well. Dutra, Scales, Gooch, Clark, Fant, Fields are all seeing increased minutes. Add in Latham, Allen and Mangieri and our D next year will  be in decent shape.

I'm realllly liking what I'm seeing from Scales and Gooch in this scheme.

ESPN gives Shane Wynn a helmet sticker:

Indiana WR Shane Wynn: There’s been a spark missing from the passing attack for the Hoosiers early in the season, but Wynn provided the type of explosion they’ve been looking for with a pair of touchdowns in the 49-24 win over North Texas. Wynn only caught five passes but averaged more than 25 yards per reception as Indiana hit the halfway mark in its bid for bowl eligibility.

Attendance dropped to 40k from a 44k # against Maryland.  Not really a huge drop IMO...not nearly as bad as anticipated.  That is likely paid attendance not actual attendance but that is the measuring standards.

Rushing on average 300 yards a game giving up only 129.  Of course, this is before we face the Big Boys of the Big Ten...but still it's a young team overall and hats must be hung on something.

Averaging ~43% on 3rd down conversions which is pretty damn good.  Again w/the caveat of the prior stat.

Our top two leaders in tackles are SOPHOMORES!  (but one is a safety...hate to see a safety in the tackles chase).

4 picks on the year, only one was by a Sr (Murphy).  The D is young and going to improve.

GO HOOSIERS!!!!!!!

I think you can kind of put Tevin in the talk for the Heisman but I still think Jameis Winston wins it.

Winston doesn't have near the stats he had last year, but lots of season left.

That said, my money is against him. Heisman voters are hard pressed to hand out a second trophy, especially when said player happens to be a raging jackass.

It'll be whichever SEC West QB has the "play" towards the end of the year on the best team.

Hint hint: Prescott or Marshall
