Iowa State Basketball Drunk Driving Arrests

Recommended Posts

Two Iowa State players suspended after being arrested for drunk driving. Surprisingly, these sort of issues don't occur only at Indiana under Crean's watch. Similar punishment that HMP received as well.  :o

Not good no matter where it happens. They are risking lives. Schools need to do a better job of educating students about the affects and repercussions before it's too late

IU does a good job at orientation to talk about drinking but really don't talk much about drinking and driving. Probably because 1) Everything is in walking distance or 2) They don't expect people to be that stupid.

Completely agree. There is never any reason to drive drunk. I personally want to see those who fail to recognize the stupidity of it to be punished more severely.

Schools these days discuss it ALOT. When it comes down to it though, students make their own decisions and sometimes those decisions are really stupid.

IU and the city have done a pretty good job in offering the "night owl" bus service and free taxi rides on Little 500 weekend, but there absolutely needs to be more done.  I'm shocked (and grateful) that there haven't been more pedestrian deaths around campus and downtown, considering there are people walking near/around the road everywhere, all the time.
