I agree!! Tucker seems very similar to Wilkes in the sense of getting every school involved fan bases in it. It isn't a wise approach cause when he doesn't choose those schools they will attack him on social media which isnt right but just how it is. I would keep my recruitment pretty quiet on social media if it were me.

He'll get the attention he wants and commit to a school where he wants to play. Doubt he cares about salty fans from other places

FWIW from Albers:

It’s been rather quiet on the Jordan Tucker front in recent weeks as the 2017 recruit continues to weigh his remaining two options: Indiana and Villanova.

Tucker hasn’t provided much of an update since his Dec. 22 interview with Adam Zagoria, but I’m told he still plans to make a decision soon, possibly by the end of next week. Tucker could wait as long as February, but his preference is to decide sooner rather than later.

Multiple sources close to the situation believe Indiana has the edge on Villanova at this point. The Hoosiers hosted the 6-foot-7 Tucker for an official visit for the Nov. 30 game against North Carolina at Assembly Hall, and he understandably walked away very impressed. Tucker took his official trip to Villanova on Dec. 13.

Tucker, a four-star recruit and the 50th-ranked player in the 2017 class, would like the opportunity to play immediately at whichever school he chooses. Because of Indiana’s crowd of forwards, Tucker would prefer for OG Anunoby to be out of the picture if he chooses the Hoosiers. Those close to the situation expect Anunoby to declare for the NBA Draft after this season, and Indiana’s pitch to Tucker includes the assumption that Anunoby won’t be a Hoosier next year.

Indiana currently has 6-foot-4 guard Al Durham, 6-foot-7 forward Justin Smith, and 6-foot-10 center Clifton Moore signed in the 2017 class.

Bleacher Report just posted a new mock and in the summary stated that 18th where he is projected may be the furthest he slides with a possible early 20s pick. Says scouts know he is a shutdown defender from 1-4 as we all know and that his shooting isn't great but good enough. Also there is a seperate article talking about if OG was to get a handle and come back next year he could be a top 5 pick. I don't think he is 100% gone like people think. If he thinks he can get his handles tight and work on his offensive game more it may be tempting to stay and try to make sure he is a top 10 pick. He will definitely go through the combine and could very well move up from a strong showing so at this point I have no clue. I know it isn't gonna be popular but against teams like PSU I think we should start RoJo, DG, JBJ, OG & Juwan. Make Bryant become hungry again. If Juwan cant go tonight tho it really isn't an option.

Question for you all. Albers says he wants to play right away and for that OG would need to be gone. Is that really the case? Presuming CTC stays, with his frequent rotations/subbing wouldn't you expect Tucker get just as many minutes with or without OG on board?

Just worth pointing out in the video with peegs he said iu was selling him playing as a guard. Pap Oregon didn't surprise me as much since he mentioned them and Arizona in an article right after he visited iu. While he said iu and Villanova prioritized him he was still looking at the other 2

Yeah with the way Crean subs he'd probably get 20-25 minutes with or without OG here. I could see from an offensive standpoint wanting OG gone though because then Tucker would have more room to operate and get buckets.

How can that be expected...OG isn't even starting anymore

FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing

Potential..remember Daniel Orton (sp?) from Kentucky? That guy didn't start all year and averaged like 6 points but was still drafted fairly high if I remember

Good example. Also OG has better stats than most of the kids in his spot. Scouts know very worse case scenario the have a better Andre Roberson. They won't worry much knowing his defensive potential and he can shoot. I am not sure how you don't get it?

I think he's safe as far as the OG deal goes. Whether OG needs to stay another year or not, (I'd actually argue he needs to go ASAP) he'll probably be gone. His game isn't really suited to dominate at the college level and NBA people obviously will be salivating over his physical tools. If that's Tucker's selling point, then he'll be a Hoosier I would think. Looks like Tucker and Smith could be a nice 2-3 or 3-4 combo together.

Also, I know some are kind of worried about Tucker's inconsistency. Buckley is considered the shot doctor right? If Tucker really is mainly a scorer like he is said to be, I wouldn't be too worried after a full summer in Bloomington with the staff.

Even if OG goes after this season he'll be fighting for minutes. IU is selling him on developing him as a guard?

PG) Newkirk, Green
SG) RoJo, CuJo
...
Forward) Hartman, Morgan, McSwain, McRoberts, Moore, Smith

Maybe he could do that thing of promising a starting spot that he doesn't do?

I think OG is 100% gone after this year and I think TB should/will go too. I believe OG is a top-20 pick (at least) this year and could be lotto. NBA is about potential and OG is one of the most physically-gifted college players in recent years so I'm not sure stats for him makes much of a difference. I don't think Hartman is back next year either for what that's worth with Tucker.

I don't get why McSwain gets minutes. I think/hope Moore will be above McSwain next year on PT.

The way Crean subs people Tucker will get a decent amount of minutes as a frosh. Would be weird if this ends up as a top-15 class after all the "misses" we have had in the '17 class.

What makes you think Collin won't be back?

Well if you believe in trends.. has there been a redshirt that has used his fifth year? (Mo Creek transferred, Matt Roth graduated x2)

That's true.. I could definitely see him not coming back, either because he wants to move on with his life or Crean politely asks him to leave. I really hope he's back though. We need a guy like him on the team.

Unless Colin is promised a coaching spot I don't see him not trying to play somewhere else. Creek was okay when he left and Roth was just a shooter. Hartman offers more on and off the court than both those guys did. Even though I wanted Creek to stay. Kid went through hell and back just to play ball.
