JaQuan Lyle off the board

Could well be, but he could be eligible in Dec. & we have no schollies to give at present RT @AssemblyCall: @ChronicHoosier JaQuan Lyle? :-)

Really intriguing...Wonder if he is wanting to play this year or attend a full year at IMG and join a team (OU, IU etc.) as a member of the '15 class. Morgan, O.G, Bryant and Lyle would be a really great class for '15, but the question remains, who does that peg as leaving that is currently on the roster. This could get really interesting, especially if we see him at Hoosier Hysteria ha-ha.

Immature and indecisive on what college to attend is not a big deal to me. People act like he is going to come to btown and rob the first liquor store he drives by lol

Please stay away from Big Red heading north out of town towards Indy if its still there. Loved that place and bought my first legal keg there right at IU. What a party! Hope you students are still living it up like we did back in the day before laptops and cell phones. Phone pictures...now that's scary. So thankful we didn't have them; overserved once and you become a facebook legend.

I'll trust the staff on adding him to the '15 class. Obviously the talent is off the charts.

One thing I think would be a disaster and I'd honestly have to severely question Crean's judgement on, would be somehow adding him to the team in the second semester. If they want to add him as a walk-on in the second semester and have him practice sort of like a redshirt, that's fine. But the idea of considering adding him to the roster to play is insane to me.

Same here. Even with a kid that doesn't have character questions, that would be sketchy. I like your idea of him walking on and practicing, but definitely no to playing at the start of the B1G season.

I would take him in a heart beat. Obviously there is nothing more important than playing basketball to him and that might not be a reality anymore if he doesn't get his "act" together. Needless to say, I believe he's desperate enough to get it all worked out and he comes here in December

I've thought about this a lot and I am still not on board with it yet---definitely not at semester break.

I trust the staff---- but this seems like a desperation move to me.

Looking at our roster---if no one leaves----we don't have to have a pg for next year anyway.  If yogi leaves--slide over Rojo or Stan (or even JBJ) and we would be fine.

I say slam on the brakes---call 2015 done unless a stud big wants to come---and start concentrating on the 2016 guards which are great.

That's my 2 cents---but tomorrow ----we will probably hear Lyle is coming to Hysteria!

When our recruitment of him initially started ramping up during spring/summer 2014, I initially was really excited and loved his talent. He is definitely a special player and could be a great addition for us. His size and ability is a unique combination. It doesn't matter to me when he comes in. If he's coming at all, it means Crean sees a stability and maturity I haven't heard of him. If he's coming, get him here as soon as he's ready, because his talent would be a huge addition. If he comes, I'm going to assume his character and mentality is no longer a concern. This could be a total flop, or a big piece to a potentially championship caliber 2016 team.

A big gamble----It seems like we finally got the chemistry issues resolved and I don't want to see that messed up again.

It seems like from what I can piece together, Jaquan is an extremely nice, fun to be around kid who put basketball ahead of academics. Are most of his " bad" decisions classroom/school based, or are there other behavioral/character issues I just haven't heard about.

This is an honest question, as I don't know much about his situation, but do y'all really think if he did choose to attend IU, our team chemistry would take that big of a hit? It is reported that he is very close with JBJ, and I think he could probably help keep him in check if anything was off chemistry wise. Just wanted to get everyone's opinion as I'm out of the  loop on this.

Saw JL play against Washington with Cody Zeller. Lyle was just a Freshman. I believe CZ was a Sr. and committed to IU. JL almost brought BB back for the win, but CZ was just too much. If CTC does bring JL on board, I just hope he's not another Funderburke! LOL! IIRC, however Funderburke was a good student. BTW, Cody displayed a nice jumpshot in that game.

From what I can remember, he got suspended for fighting with a teammate at one point. Another thing was that he basically walked off the court (before game was over), yelled at his coach and sat on the floor. People I know from Evansville said that he needed to be pushed at all times (Hollowell?), but had a huge ceiling. N.D. Kendrick was really high on him, IIRC. I know that he has supporters as well as detractors.

If some of the issues could be resolved, I could see him having a year like Deron Williams had for the 2004 Illinois squad next season.

The Hollowell comparison ends on the court. He could very well be a distraction to the team, but on the court he is stellar and very engaged unlike our friend Hollowell. Absolutely love his size and vision on the hardwood. If Crean can reign him in and keep him focussed off the court, I am all in.

I like the Deron Williams comparison as far as physicality and body type.Wish we would have had him instead of or at least with his high school teammate.

The suspension was before a game that was suppose to have a lot of coaches there, including CTC right? I think they covered it up by saying he missed the bus.
