IU @ Bowling Green Post-Game Thread

So the defense.......

Unless we turn it around and make a bowl game, I'm of the mindset that Wilson should be done here. 4 years and really no true progress towards the next step

Exactly. I don't need or want to hear the annual "All we need is to make a couple plays" pre-season speech again.

Don't want to say I told you so, but remember when I called out Wilson a couple years ago and everyone accused me of "not being a true fan and supporting the program?" I've tried to give the guy a chance, but this team is poorly-coached and it shows.

He's no better of a coach now than he was 2 years ago.

Didn't Western KY beat this team by 28 points last week when BGSU had their starting QB? I knew the defense wouldn't hold BGSU for the final 2:04 or the entire game for that matter. Knorr appears to be just as bad as Mallory. No wonder the stadium is rarely full in Bloomington. Being in the East division, it looks like another season without a bowl game. CKW should have had them in a bowl game last year.

We can blame the coaching to a certain extent, but at the end of the game this loss comes down on the individual matchups on defense. The last two drives of the game were pure 1 on 1 matchups. If you are a B1G player, you need to step your game up and take some personal pride that a mid-major recruit isn't going to beat you in a single matchup. Our pass rush was pathetic, and BGSU was not doing anything special in pass protection, their bookends simply shutdown our defensive ends. Our corners on the last drive were getting out played. A mid-major WR recruit shouldn't run blow past a B1G CB recruit. It was happening all day, you would think BGSU was the better recruited team with how much faster their guys looked than ours. Both pass interference calls were due to our guys simply getting beat and making a desperation attempt.
