Just a great letter to Coach. I hope he comes back for this. Like AJ said he has never said no to anything he's asked of him; to me and thousands of alumni and fans of Indiana basketball, I hope Coach Knight is listening.

I agree, IMO Coach Knight IS IUBB, I know some disagree and that's fine, but the majority of Hoosier Nation understand what he has done for IU and the foundation he set there, the traditions he set. He needs to come home.

Snowball's chance in hell Knight goes. He will send a nice letter I'm sure though.

I wouldn't go that far. He is the type that will do something like this because he was asked by somebody he respects and to show everybody he never gave a darn and its no big deal. Then again he may do exactly what u said lol

Brand was looking for any way to fire Knight. He jumped on the chance when that worm and his daddy cried to the University about it. He was a hypocrite about a lot of things, including self awareness and temperament. However, his on court antics were so overly shadowed by what he did for the University and hundreds of players that his firing was wholly unjustified. That kid is now some minister in Carmel or something and has no regrets. I don't think he has any idea what he did to IU. We've never been the same.

IF and thats a BIG IF, Bob Knight ever came back to Indiana, it would be for an event like this. However, I do not see him sticking around and helping out IU in any way. He will not play second fiddle in a program that booted him out. While those people that did that are now gone, I have a feeling Bob Knight still holds Indiana responsible as a whole regardless of who is here now.

I was referring to the student not Neil Reed

I know I figured it out after I hit send. This is a real interesting letter because it is calling bob out in kind of a big way. When u consider he says bob said he would do anything for him and has honored that since he graduated then directly ask him to attend it will b interesting to see what happens

Which is truly sad. The actions of so few affected so many. I get the resentment, but the AD and the current coach have reached out to patch things up. Everyone responsible for his firing are gone. The olive branch was handed out by Glass and Crean, maybe it will take AJ Guyton to finally sway him. Highly, highly doubt it.

While the program is bigger than one individual person, it is equally true that Bob Knight, more than anyone else, is closely associated with Indiana basketball and it's history and he always will be.  When people think of Indiana basketball his name is at or near the very top of what comes to mind, with the banners and the candy stripes.

Amazing letter. I hope this works. AJ just put RMK's word on the line. He went all in on this.

Sent from my place of advanced, analytical thinking: the toilet.
