Women swinging the big bats today leading 7-1 and batting in the top of the 3rd.  Sarah Stone started he game off with a grand slam in the 1st.  In the 3rd, Minnick hit a 2-run HR and Parker followed her with a solo shot.  Through 2 innings, Copeland has pitched a 2-hitter.  Mercer's lone run came on a Copeland WP.

And before I can hit the Submit Reply button, Stone has hit her second HR of the day, this one a 2-run shot and it's a 9-1 Hoosier lead still in the top of the 3rd.

Hoosiers can't handle Florida pitching and lose 10-4 being limited to 4 hits.  Bassett and Minnick each with a 2-run HR to account for all of our scoring.   On the flip side, we gave up 10 runs on 7 hits, 7 BB and 4 HBP.  Kleiman started and lasted 2 innings.  Johnson went 3 innings and Montgomery finished it out.

As I said Florida is really good.

Limited to 4 hits yesterday against Florida pitching and today only 3 hits.  Won't win many games against a top 10 team that way.  We were blanked today 10-0 in a run-shortened game and our record is now 22-6 as we head to B1G play next weekend on the road at Penn State.

Not against a team like that.

PSU takes game #2 of the series 8-3.  Kleiman started and didn't make it out of the 1st inning giving up 3 runs on 4 hits.  Copeland relieved and pitched 4 innings giving up another 3 runs.  Johnson finished up and was touched for 2 more runs. PSU had 10 hits but 6 were for extra bases.

Hoosiers had 7 hits with Parker getting 3 and Copeland 2.  Parker had 2 RBI coming on a 1st inning HR.  We'll try to salvage one game tomorrow and move on to Louisville (20-11) for a Tuesday night game.  Next weekend we host Michigan (18-11).

PSU sweeps the weekend winning 5-2 today.  Held to 6 hits; Bassett only player with 2 and she accounted for both of our runs.  Kleiman started and went 3.1 innings allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Cooper and Copeland finished the game.

Overall we're now 22-9 but start conference play 0-3.  Tuesday evening we'll play at Louisville and next weekend we'll host Michigan.

@LockdownD I think you jinxed us.

Brianna Copeland show tonight as she pitched 4 innings of 1-hit ball plus also got 3 hits and 2 RBI and we led 9-0 in the top of the 5th.  Copeland faltered in the 5th giving up a single, 2 walks and a WP and was relieved by Cooper with the bases loaded and nobody out. An infield single scored a run and Kleiman relieved Cooper. A Hoosier error let in another run to make it 9-2 and then a bases clearing double made it 9-5 after 5 complete.

Despite our best efforts, we hung on for an 11- 6 win.  After Louisville scored 5 in its 5th, we got 2 back in our 6th but Louisville got 1 back as well.  We finished with 16 hits; L'ville had 7.  Copeland, Parker & Kettleman each 3 hits.  Copeland, Parker, Minnick & Kettleman each 2 RBI.

This weekend we host Michigan.

Not starting conference play off on a very good footing as we lose the weekend opener to Michigan 15-6 and are 0-4.  Copeland started and went 3.1 innings giving up 7 runs on 6 hits and 3 BB.  Kleiman relieved but only lasted an inning giving up 4 runs on 4 hits.  Montgomery took over for Kleiman and Cooper has also had mound duty and when it was all said and done Michigan had 15 hits; 6 of which were for extra bases.

We had 12 hits but couldn't put enough together to score runs in bunches.  Stone had 3 hits and 4 RBI.
