Hoosiers win 9-1 in a game shortened to 5 innings due to the 8-run rule.  We added 2 runs in our 5th on a bases loaded walk and then a hit batter and that was the ballgame.  Copeland gave up 4 hits and didn't walk a batter.  MSU's lone run a result of an IU error.  We only had 5 hits in the game but 2-MSU errors, 4 BB and 3 HBP got us 9 runs.  Minnick and Copeland each had 2 of our 5 hits. 

Saturday's game has a 2:00 start.

After 4 complete, Hoosiers lead 7-5.  We trailed 5-3 but scored 4 runs in our 4th to re-take the lead.  Our 1, 2, 3 hitters  --  Bassett, Kern and Minnick each have 2-RBI.  Johnson started but Copeland took over to start the 3rd after MSU scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning.

How about our record setting freshman!!

We picked up insurance runs in the 6th on a Kern solo HR and a Copeland RBI single to take a 9-5 lead with MSU down to its last 3 outs.

Hoosiers win game #2 of the weekend series 9-5.  Copeland pitched the final 5 innings in relief of Johnson and only allowed 3 hits and 1 BB.  We ended up with 11 hits to 7 for MSU.  Kern went 3-4 with 3 RBI.  Bassett 2-4 with 2 RBI and Minnick also 2 RBI.

We go for the series sweep tomorrow at noon.  Game will be televised on the basic BTN channel

Heather Johnson gets the start again today in the last game of the regular season.  B1G tournament starts Wednesday at Illinois and runs through Saturday.  Hopefully Johnson lasts longer today than she did yesterday.  Women are currently in second place in the conference 2 games behind Northwestern and just 1 game ahead of third place Minnesota.

Hoosiers take a 1-0 lead in the 3rd on a Stone sac fly.

A Spartan wild pitch makes it a 2-0 game after 4 complete.

A Spartan wild pitch scored Kern to make it 3-0 after 5 complete.   Johnson has scattered 4 Spartan hits and hasn't walked a batter in her 5 innings.

Spartans picked up a run in the 6th and after having gotten 3 more hits off Johnson, Copeland took the mound with 2 outs and a runner on 3rd. A pop-up ended the inning.  3-1 Hoosiers lead and coming to bat in our 6th.

Copeland faces 4 batters and gets 4 consecutive outs.  Hoosiers with another series sweep winning 3-1 today.

Got rid of Versyp and now De Oliveira.  Sounds like puting some new emphasis on their women's programs.
