I feel like if I give my opinion on Nick and say nothing about Crean, but get posts jabbing me as someone trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes I have the right to respond. I made a post relevant to the topic and subsequently had to respond to comments that had nothing to do with what I said. I make dumb posts and overreact a lot (the sarcastic all caps post above for example), but I don't feel as if I'm in the wrong here. I'm happy to disagree with someone, but if you're going to call me out I'm not going to hide under the porch. Just my two cents.
Understand, it's tricky. Look at it this way, responding to getting called out is making the situation worse because it will take the whole thing longer and longer. If you let us know first, we can deal with it. Saves you or anyone else going after a response, and it saves the thread.

A lot of people don't understand how difficult it is to be a mod. people deserve a right to voice their opinion, but it can be difficult when rules aren't broken, but lines are being almost stepped on.

This goes for everyone, let us know if someone comes after you/your post. We will take care of it before it gets out of hand.

I like the pick up.

He gives needed leadership, shooting and low turnovers.

Leadership is the key this year and it starts with coach. He needs to lead better and maybe he saw something in this young man that could help him get his message across.

We're all invested in this team, but I would hope nobody believes more than the coaching staff and team.

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

Due to the makeup of the roster, and the limited overall experience at the PF and C positions, I feel IU will play with a lot of 3 and 4 guards on the floor. Zeisloft has a lot of experience with this type of play, even if it might not have been with great success but he has a lot of experience under his belt with 4 guards on the floor. No one will confuse the ISU offense with some of the past four guard play at Villanova. Maybe the the less than stellar ISU offensive stats comes from limited overall team talent. Zeisloft will be surrounded by much better players at IU than what Nick was surrounded by at ISU. I think ISU had 5 guards average over 20 minutes of playing time last year as compared to IU's 2 guards averaging over 20 minutes. If IU is going to go with a lot of 3 and 4 guard play, Zeisloft's experience should pay dividends in practice alone. I hope he becomes a much larger game contributor but will be satisfied if he can lead by being a valued contributor in practice and demonstrating how to run an offense with four guards.

I think almost everyone would have preferred a solid big man coming in as a transfer and who would have been immediately eligible. Unfortunately, TC and staff missed out on these types of transfers and were forced to go a different route.
So far Nick has played a total of 71 minutes in Canada, 48 of those minutes against the two best teams in Canada. I AM NOT saying he's Calbert or VO reincarnated, but...

Hasn't missed a FT,
Has shot very well,

And has a grand total of

ZERO TURNOVERS
But he airballed a shot.
He went to ISU, he's not good enough to play at IU. Crean whiffed on this kid big time
I'm excited about his play so far, but agree that it doesn't mean a whole lot till we see him in B1G play.

Some never questioned his talent but the reality is we used a 15 schollie on this guy when it could have been used on a big guy. We have depth in the guard position. If we get Kasengo (sp) that makes sense because he fills a big need. Just needed to add to your rather thick headed post that just merely states obtuse blind loyalism.

Here you go buddy. Here's my "Blind loyalism"

I just want to nab a high recruit early so we can get rid of this year's "Crean can't recruit" discussion. The guy can recruit, his flaws are on the court. Hopefully Martin can not only bring kids in but be a louder voice in CTCs ear about some of his in game strategies. Like playing Johnny Marlin in that Northwestern game. That game was the turning point in the season and in my mind Crean blew that game for us. But I shouldn't be so critical of a man I blindly follow.

Your quoting one technical mistake coach Crean made. All coaches make tactical errors and it's subjective. I take issue with your snark comments that downplay other's opinions , even if they present what we call logic into the equation. Pretty sad if you ask me ( don't worry I know you're not asking me).
