I think ...repeat...I think a redshirt soph

In the gym

He just finished his redshirt sophomore year at ISU (on the team for three years...sat one of those years). Left ISU with an undergrad degree in finance, wants to go to an Ivy League quality B-school.

BB4IU:

Any idea if Kelley School admission is what's holding this up, and/or if the visit went well in the eyes of Nick Z?

I haven't heard that but ...that doesn't mean that isn't the reason.

In the gym
Hey bball4iu, who's been surprising good and surprisingly bad so far?

Hanner is awesome, Blackmon ..high expectations but slow start, Max is a little too cocky IMO

In the gym

1) JB2, meet Stan Robinson!

2)  If the Hanner intell turns out during the season, that DUI arrest (and the way it was handled behind the scenes) may have been the best thing that ever happened to Hanner Perea.

In the gym
Hanner's improvement is the biggest piece to the puzzle next year, so that's great to hear. JBJ will surely develop. In Max's case, nothing like some nice time spent with the bench can't fix lol. Thanks for the update.

@JeffRabjohns: Indiana sophomore forward Collin Hartman, who suffered an ACL tear March 15, is back on the court, working out with his teammates. #iubb

Collinn is 6'6" and knows the system. We can use him.

Absolutely glad to hear that Hanner has been awesome. I kind of remain cautious on it though. It's one thing to be awesome against April/Priller/Davis in practice, it's an entirely different thing to be good against Anthony Lee, Hammons, and the rest of the Big Ten.

Not worried about JBJ's start to these practices, your first few college practice can be an absolute shock, in terms of what's expected and how hard you have to work. He'll adjust and get comfortable.

If Hanner is solid, our starting 5 could be really good. We just have no real depth beyond the next two or three on the bench

Maybe we'll sub less. That wouldn't break my heart. I've seen some really good teams only play seven guys. I'd take us being one of those types of teams.

Thanks for the info. If HMP can keep this up it makes me breathe a whole lot easier. Hopefully the Canada trip gives us a good idea where he stands.

Is Max prickish, get under the other team's fans skin cocky (see Sheehey, Will) or thinks he is better than he really is cocky?

I agree 100% I don't really ideally believe in going deeper than 8 players. But that doesn't seem to be Crean's way, right?

It doesn't. Maybe this will force his hand so to speak. I have no problem going deeper than 8 if the horses are there, but I'm not sure they are this year.
