I think Syracuse was up there the whole time. I do think that all the reports that IU was in the lead for MR were true because his Mom basically told me the same thing. The James Blackmon recommitment is what most say changed that.

I hope he realizes, on his unofficial visit to Oklahoma this weekend, that they are a football first school. I will be cheering for the Vols to rout the Sooners.

Thanks Hovadipo---love the insights from the Oklahoma board--- If he doesn't pop while he's there--I still like our chances if we get him back for a Btown visit!

If the main selling point is that his mom and siblings can come to games, then that's not a very strong case for OU imo. The family will be able to make numerous trips to anywhere without too much trouble and Shake has the type of skill where the decision should be mostly basketball related, and the other pieces can fall into place. It's not like he is deciding between OU and Syracuse here, although Indiana is quite the drive from Owasso.

I think it is a big deal. They're paying their own way to games (which is an absolute crime), so I think that could be a major factor.

I'm with Scohutch on this one.  Seems like tradition has to outweigh travel considerations. If my son said dad it's between IU and Oklahoma but we live so close to Oklahoma---I'd say get your butt to IU son--that's a basketball school!
