mdn82 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 How about them Cubs! Lol, in all honestly we finish up with the Rockies today and then head to Busch for a 3 game set. I love how Madden is giving everyone plenty of days off early and utilizing that depth to the fullest. Bobman1 1 Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted April 17, 2016 Author Posted April 17, 2016 What's the story on Vince Velasquez? Why were the Astros so willing to include him in the Giles deal? The kid is absolutely dealing in Philly. I can't say for certainty , but I think they were trusting the 1-3 rotation would be set once Lance McCullers returns from the DL. Small loss for a great setup/closer combo. Problem is Cerano needs to sacrifice a live chicken for the bats to come alive. JaybobHoosier, LIHoosier and Dalton26 3 Quote

I'm just hoping this isn't just a lucky streak and he's legitimately just this good of a pitcher. It'd be nice you have him in the Rotation with Nola for the next 10 yrs or so. Quote

Crazy thing is the Cubs would have killed for the Astros to take Bryant so we could take Appel at 2. We got lucky. On the flip side most people had Correa going in the 6-10 range year he was drafted. Cubs were one of those teams that year. Astros shocked everyone and went underslot and picked Correa and were able to pay McCullers because of it. Worked out for them. We picked Albert Almora. Do you think the fowler deal was so short because of the ability to bring up Almora possibly next year? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Cubs really need to get those bats going. Glad they are 9-3 but bats are struggling. Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 As I typed the Cubs bats woke up. Leake was throwing smoke up until that inning. Heyward, Bryant, Rizzo, Soler off to slow starts this season. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Cubs win again! Any Cub not named Fowler can't hit for ish.... Good problems. I expect Heyward, Rizzo, Bryant et al to start hitting......then look out. Bobman1 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners It's definitely part of it. They didn't want to pay the 4/48 he wanted. But we lucked out and he came back for that one year deal. Quote
