johnsoniu Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Just learned that Phegley got traded out to Oakland in that deal Yep, thought he might be the third person in the Shark deal when we claimed Brantly off waivers. Quote
Hoosiers96 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 We continue to have more than our fair share of mediocre low-upside catchers which has been that way since AJ. Hopefully Flowers can start to live up to the respectable flashes he showed at times last year. Quote
johnsoniu Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Fuzzy Cubbies win the Jon Lester sweepstakes, 6yr/$155 mil. Also trade for Montero. Pieces coming together for another bizarre, epic failure. JaybobHoosier, Naturalhoosier and Walking Boot of Doom 3 Quote
Kyleweberiu Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'm a red sox fan. I went to game 2 of the World Series a couple years back. Sad to see Lester go but if he wants to go waste his career in Chicago and not compete for championships. Go right ahead Quote
Geometry Hoosier Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I think the Cubs are building a future contender and this is coming a Cards fan. JaybobHoosier 1 Quote

As a Cards fans, I've thought that about the Cubs as well. And then the season starts and they always prove me wrong. JaybobHoosier and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote

Naturalhoosier Posted December 14, 2014 Author Posted December 14, 2014 Astros are reportedly the 'sleeper team' in the Cole Hamels talks. That would be a huge get for Houston! JaybobHoosier 1 Quote
JaybobHoosier Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Astros are reportedly the 'sleeper team' in the Cole Hamels talks. That would be a huge get for Houston! Always enjoy a good Astros team. NL Central is going to be crazy good this year. Love what the Cards have done this off-season. Hated why it happened, but I think the Cards are better than last year. I'm not a big Lackey fan, but he makes for a solid 3 or 4th starter. If Wacha is healthy, I love having Waino, Lynn, and Wacha to lead the way. The 5th spot is a wild card, but have good in-house options if need be. Garcia can really pitch, but isn't reliable health wise. Quote

Not doubting you I just haven't seen it and want to check it out. We better get a kings ransom for Hamels. Quote

LIHoosier Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 With the 10 vote limit they have, I was surprised that 4 were able to get in. I thought Smoltz was gonna get the short stick. Piazza was only about 25 votes short of making it in too. Quote

djsalway Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Lol Dj wth man....https://twitter.com/baseballbros/status/572377555119955968Yeah man, it was rough. Only had one position player and one pitcher actually play who will be on the opening day roster, but embarrassing either way. It's a fitting start to this season though, where most days will be the same; ending in a loss. Quote
