Happy Birthday Tom Crean!

Recommended Posts

Happy Happy.....Well, maybe not so happy.  Might be a good time to reflect and figure out what changes need to be made to the IUBB program.  When it comes time to blow out the candles, make a wish to become a better coach and better man instead of wishing for the next big athletic 6'-10" recruit that comes along.

Honestly, this has to be the worst bday ever for the old ball coach. Half the fanbase wants your head, the other half is losing faith. You just lost walk ons and scholarship players. I would feel sorry for him if I wasn't so upset at the season and the fact that he can enjoy one of the finer Btown establishments and I went to Red Lobster

Happy b-day Coach Crean! You have far more fans than critics and we have faith in you and the young men you will bring in to represent this fine University! Don't let the fair weather fans get to you or the team. The true fans are there always, through thick and thin. Count this IU Grad as a true fan! Go Hoosiers!

Keith

It isn't fair weather to question a coach. To abandon a team is, not to question a coach. And I would say he has far more people on their bad side than good right now.

I never said you couldn't question his coaching moves/decisions. Lordy, did I yell at the TV enough this year with the strange (to me) substitutions. And last yr ag'st Syracuse, it looked like the kids never ever practiced ag'st a zone before. I still support CTC and MY University. Class of 1989!

Have a very Happy Birthday Coach!  Then tomorrow get back at the enormous job at hand of assembling the next Hoosier team.

Take some tips from the some of the coaching on display in the NCAA where I have been seein' some pretty good coaching so far.

Wow. Better man? Do you know him? Now it's apparently getting personal.

Don't know him very well or anything, but anyone who would lie to his players, run this many guys away and not discipline some players for things that have gone on, shows bad character....... I wouldn't say it's personal, but difinitely unethical.

When did he lie to his players?

And it may be against his contract if he is not disciplining players that have broken university policy. That may get us out of hs enormous buyout and resign for a lot less. Oh btw, happy birthday coach.

If the stories are true, he's following university policy as far as we know. I believe policy for basketball players is counseling for a first positive drug test. For a second, it's a three game suspension. Note how games Jeremy sat for his focus issues. The issue for some is whether Crean should have done more, i.e., not start players after the first positive test.

I have tried to find out what policy is and couldn't find anything.  I believe it's up to the coach of each sport.  There is nothing publicly available that spells it out.
