Hollowell & Etherington transferring..

Recommended Posts

Well, I said this was where it was headed about two months ago. That Vonleh was going pro was a forgone conclusion. That there might be a mass exodus is another. Crean is ruining this program almost as fast as he rescued it, and there's no one else to blame but Crean. Next year will be more of what we saw this year; talented kids trying to learn on the fly, having their asses handed to them, getting frustrated in the process and imploding down the stretch.
So what is it?
Crean called a team meeting after the NIT Selection show and went bonkers. Went off about our Seniors lack of leadership and placing the blame on their shoulders. (2 of the seniors were 4 year walk ons who busted their tails in practice and have outstanding GPAs.). Crean went on about how 3/4 of them wouldn't amount to anything in life, be divorced and broke because they don't have any leadership qualities. He basically attacked the seniors & walk ons for this season and it rubbed the whole team the wrong way. ESPECIALLY the walk ons. This is pretty much the gist of that meeting, but it wasn't a good one by any account. Crean then gave the team the week off and the transfers happened on the first day back.
But don't worry if a guy who may or may not be in the know says players fail drug tests thats totally fair game here.

As far as why three kids decided not to pursue spending hours upon hours of work while not receiving a scholarship or academic help there's a story that we are not privy to.
relax, just didn't see the responses to my post.

If that's true it's totally out of line.

Sounds like something Bob Knight would do.

It's not the first time these types of meetings have happened. First major one was during last year before the end of the Big Ten season... Hence the rumors of issues last season down the stretch.

Side Note: I wasn't at ANY of these meetings. This is all info I've been told, but I've been told it from multiple people in varying degrees of detail. As always, take it all with a grain of salt.

I look at the information I get as fact that something has happened, details get changed and construed to people's agendas along the Iine. Ever play telephone as a kid?

Words can't even describe the feeling that went through my head when reading this. Wow is all I can say right now.

That stuff is beyond disappointing if what was said is true.

Did he take a crap and hand the toilet paper to the players and say this is what you guys are?

(sorry if I messed up the details on that Bob Knight gem, I hadn't even thought about it many years.)

Sounds like Auburn is one school in play for IU transfer Jeremy Hollowell. Still early, obviously. #iubb[/background]
Haha did he really report that just based on Hollowell following auburn accounts? Too funny if true

Haha no I like that you posted it here. I was laughing at the tweet itself and Zach posted that. Wondered if he had info besides the fact that Hollowell followed Auburn stuff. Too dunny

Ugh. Truly disappointing if true. It's one thing to berate scholarship players, but the walk-ons? That's out of line. Those guys put in a lot of hard work for very little reward. They deserve nothing but our respect and even more importantly the respect of the coaching staff.

I'm not really cool with berating the departing scholarship seniors, but the walk-on thing bothers me a lot more.
