(2015) LB Chris Green to Toledo

Recommended Posts

Sad story. His mother was incarcerated about a year ago and he moved in with legal guardians. Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders and a stable home life now. Good for him!

Looks like @OHSAASports made their (incorrect) ruling on Toledo Central Catholic '15 LB Chris Green. http://www.bcsn.tv/news_article/show/376525?referral=rss&referrer_id=986280 … #badcall

Convinced he would have had a competitive advantage over his opponents and his teammates, the Ohio High School Athletic Association will not bend its age rules to let Central Catholic standout linebacker Chris Green play sports his senior season.

The decision, announced in an April 3 letter signed by OHSAA assistant commissioner Roxanne Price, effectively ends the high school athletics career of Green, the 2013 defensive player of the year in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference.

Green’s family and his school fought for an exemption from the age limit, addressing in a letter to the OHSAA the many hardships that contributed to Green missing several days of school and failing the fourth grade.

Green, who enrolled in kindergarten a year late, will turn 19 on June 25 of this year, exceeding OHSAA’s cut-off date for seniors by 36 days.

Not sure if our visit is still planned for this month or he has already been here, but according to the 247 profile he went to Cincinnati on July 17 and scheduled for Illinois on July 28.

The #Illini are in the driver's seat for Ohio LB Chris Green heading into Sunday's visit to #IUFB: http://illinois.247sports.com/Article/Illini-Lead-For-Ohio-Linebacker-Chris-Green-29973514 … #Illinois

Illinois could soon land a linebacker pledge from Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic linebacker Chris Green, who spent his Monday visiting Champaign for the first time. The 6-foot, 226-pound Green tells 247Sports his decision, which is expected in the near future, will come down to the Illini and Indiana. Green added that Illinois is the current team to beat.

Rated by the 247Sports Composite as the nation’s No. 26 inside linebacker, Green will visit Indiana on Sunday.

“Coach (William) Inge Facebooked me and told me he wants me to get out there and that he has a spot for me, and I’m going to check it out and see how I like it and see if anything changes my thoughts on Illinois. “I should probably know where I’m going (to school) after that.”

Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Penn State and West Virginia were a few of the other programs to offer Green during the recruiting process.
