IU vs. Wisky Post-Game Thread!

Recommended Posts

Beating Wisconsin was the last monkey we needed to get off our backs. I'm not a fan of storming the court, but I understand why they did in this particular situation. Willing to not make a big deal about it, but hope these younger fans start handling success with a little more maturity from now on. This is Indiana, we should expect to win at home regardless of who we are playing.

Also nice to get 18 minutes out of AE last night. He wasn't the biggest part of the offense, but still, only committed two fouls, and no turnovers, and he still doesn't force any part of his game and disrupt the offense. Seems like he has earned Crean's trust and we could see more nights were he gets good minutes like this.

Great win. The team looked a lot better than I expected and I loved the turnovers being down. But when it comes to storming the court as the old saying goes "act live you've been there before." I've always found storming the court embarrassing. If we were someone like weber state I'd get it a little more but we are Indiana.

You can blame ESPN for the court storms. They encourage it by showing every court storm on TV. The promote it because it makes good television. I'm sure they loved it last night.

One thing that I think is missing from last night that may be overshadowed by the HUGE Win and the idiotic court storming is the play that we got out of Hanner, finally!

I know his line of the box score really doesn't look like much but at key points in this game he was present, which is MUCH more than anything we have seen from him in the past.

1. Great win. Best $33 I've ever spent on StubHub by far.

2. Austin Etherington changed my opinion on him last night. Great game.

3. Glad to see the leaders step up with the game on the line. Yogi had a BAD shooting night, but he knew that 8th triple was falling. Will hit a clutch 3 and had some classic Sheehey back-cuts and hustle plays.

4. I hope the students storm the court after every win. Sure, we have tradition, but who cares? These kids weren't even alive for it. I say storm it vs. Northwestern as a big middle finger to everyone (media, fans, traditionalists) who bashed them last night.

So the guy who calls people names on message boards tells another member to grow up, ironic...

I called you a tool one time, relax.

But yeah, grow up. Students get drunk and rush the court, so what. Yeah its dumb, but I guarantee you would do the exact same thing if you were in that situation, but you wouldn't know because you're still in High School (which is why you throw temper tantrums about everything).

Let them have a little fun. I realize were 'Indiana' and shouldn't rush the court, but I've seen schools do much, much worse.

Looks like the rotations are getting shorter and shorter. Say what you will but the sitting of Yogi was what Good Coaches do! I agree that the one late Noah sub still makes me scratch my head, but the get to the rim offense for this team should be the gameplan from here out against teams that we cannot run on. Let's build some more confidence and momentum. Here is to hoping that Coach Crean and his staff get the team focused on what's up next and the past is just that!

Got home around 10pm last night and watched it on DVR. I resisted facebook and btownbanners for 3 hours which was killing me but am glad I held out. What a great win. I love Crean's coaching last night. I hope for the team and Crean this is the start of type of play and coaching we can expect from here on out. Like it or not the coach and the team proved what they are capable of to the fans and they better bring that type of effort and play every night. They raised the bar in my mind last night for this season.

I think more in general. I mean Oklahoma State fans rushed the court last year when they beat Oklahoma. And they were highly ranked at the time, and Oklahoma was in the middle of stretch of basketball when they were playing pretty poorly. Don't know if there is a direct correlation between the Wat Shot and anything. But in general court stormings seem to be more frequent.

The one, well two, encouraging things from last night:

1.  Stan Robinson's play.  That kid needs to start.

2.  The Hoosiers' half court play.  While they still stand around too much for my taste, at time they were patient, moved the ball and used thier quickness to get good looks.

Let's hope that this is the turning point!

I've thought for awhile he should start but the more I think the more I like him off the bench to give the team a spark. He makes for a great sixth man.

I agree. But not being able to decide whether he is a starter or a great spark off the bench is a good problem to have in my mind.

All good points.  My point being that he is producing and Stan is not.  Either way, he should get starters minutes.
