I still think this is an extreme long shot. Looks like the decision to reclassify takes place this week then he will narrow his list of schools after that according to Ed Smith. Does the offer to the brother give us an edge?

His parents have nothing to do with it. Im pretty sure they are living in Australia. Ed Smith is his legal guardian I'm pretty sure

Unless something has changed, only Thon, his brother and one other family member escaped South Sudan. His parents are still there.

Unfortunately, the situation there is still critical. 1.3 million people still displaced from their homes, war, violence, etc.

I was talking about the Civil War being ended. Of course the violence and people being displaced from their homes is still occurring. That ,unfortunately, is occurring all over the world

He's an Adidas kid.  A LOT would have to happen to change that.  I don't have all the info but I can't see him going anywhere else besides an Adidas school.

Should have clarified, can't see him going to a non-Adidas school.  I read an article awhile back that stated the feel of many coaches.  I guess we'll see soon though.

Thanks CCG.  I've been on record saying Thon reclasses for about a year now.  Friday we find out for sure.  I don't think we have too much of a chance unfortunately, even with Alaska Shake's recruiting efforts.  I feel like it'll be Kansas.

I'm fully assuming that the reclass will happen.  How are they going to go through all this work to reclassify, and on "decision day", Thon says NO.    ain't gonna happen... he will be 2015 no doubt.

that FB player is a D1 basketball player regardless.

I'm not going to pretend to know all of the details of this, but the fact that he has been in the country for tourneys the past weeks and not a single coach has been there to see him leads me to believe coaches don't see him  playing college basketball due to eligibility - at this point.
