Call me crazy, dumb, or what you want, but I'm not convinced that MSU is as much better than us as some say they are. Outside of that half against UK at the United Center, I haven't been overly impressed with them. Yes, they are years, lightyears even, ahead of us in experience. That's simply a fact. If IU just goes out and plays, looking at MSU as another team, there is no reason they can't compete Saturday. Stay out of foul trouble, knock down some shots, be relatively careful with the ball (I know, I know), and we have a shot. Not to mention 17,000 of these guys' best friends bearing down on Sparty.

I agree with this.

You've also gotta realize that IU has a track record of playing highly ranked teams well at home over the past couple seasons.

I hope we hit the Spartans right in the mouth. I believe this team will eventually start clicking and when that happens it will be a game changer.

To get a victory this team needs to play like they are capable of and start living up to their expectations.

Other than a ridiculous amount of turnovers, I could almost see IU resembling something of a team against UI. I think as the season goes on one of two things will happen: they will come together or they will still be 5 bodies on the court each playing their own game.

That being said, I think MSU is one of the more overrated programs right now and I'd love to see IU hurt them.

Two things:

Keith Appling seems to not play well against the Hoosiers, and that is huge for us.  Yogi will do a good job defending him, as will Evan Gordon.  Hope this continues to be the norm.

Vonleh has to be careful with Payne's willingness to flop.  That dude is a good actor, and Vonleh is an aggressive Freshman who can get carried away with his strength.  Vonleh has to play smart, or Payne will draw cheap fouls.

Those are two keys for me in this game, besides the obvious turnovers.  Gary Harris will have a big game, and we will need Gordon, Robinson, and Sheehey to have big games guarding him.

To me we have to come out believing we can win.... If I hear we were just happy to be in the game, or we talked about just trying to keep it close or any other BS like that I will fly off the handle....

Besides that we are a good team and have to come out and play like a good team (that means no foul trouble, limited turnovers (15), decent shooting etc)

Lets go Hoosiers... can't wait til Saturday.

We need to figure out how to move the ball with a purpose.  Most of the turnovers are when we get in trouble going to the hole or trying to make a bad pass because we can't get to the hole.  Seems like some players might benefit from being spectators for a few games and told they can play again when they quit turning the ball over half the times they touch it.....,

Sucks that students won't be back for this one. Hopefully all the old people will actually stand up and cheer for this one.

Some may return early due to Sunday's predicted snowstorm. At any rate, it should be a lot louder than the library we played in New Year's Eve.

What I want to see:  slowing down a tad from the usual hair on fair pace, TAKING CARE OF THE BALL, fluid half court offense with players cutting with a purpose, Yogi not pounding the air out of the ball until 15 seconds on the shot clock so he can go one on one, players being held accountable for mind bogglingly stupid mistakes

What I expect to see:  pretty much the exact opposite of that
