Collin Hartman

...Is pretty damn good.

Much quicker laterally than I expected.
Plays like an upperclassman.
Doesn't force play, but gets involved.
Seems to be in the right place at the right time, and spaces the floor beautifully.
Has made a bunch of excellent outlet passes.

Pretty damn good, I tell ya.

I am actually more excited than I was originally.  There really isn't a weak link to this class yet.  Last year, we knew right away unfortunately.  Scoring won't be his issue at the college level if it is needed.  Our strength and conditioning has to be a top 5 in the country.  Its not even just strength that everyone has improved.  It is also the athleticism and lateral quickness.  I think of it as the ultimate compliment when my PU family members swear up and down our team is definitely on the juice.  The one that has really impressed me has been Devin Davis.  That kid is going to be a BEAST his Senior year.

It was nice to see Collin get some good minutes. He's that traditional "glue" guy that you need on every team. His jumper will start falling as he gets more comfortable pulling the trigger. He's doing just what he did in high school that made fans not want him. Doesn't post the big numbers, but will do everything needed to win the game. He's a winner, and I'm happy we have him.

He seems to have a high basketball IQ.  Always around the ball, and in the right place at the right time.  He's also got a good looking shot, and his 3 today was in and out.

He won't be a big contributor this year.  He's one of those players that are nice to have develop and contribute when they're upperclassmen.

Love how this team is evolving. Devin Davis is my most pleasant surprise of the freshmen,so far. He comes in and busts it on the boards and the defensive end. Enter Collin. He looks so confident on the court. His passing, spacing, defense: I've got no complaints other than I think he needs to be ready to shoot when he receives the ball. On Friday night's game he looked like he was going to shoot a three, gave a shot fake to lose the defender and dribbled in for a little jumper. Very nice. Hopefully, we'll see more of this. He is a good player that is going to be around for more than a year or two.
Question: Does anyone think he's taking Austin Etherington's minutes? Austin didn't lose the warmup jacket Sunday night.

I like everything he's done so far in the past two games (except wear the undershirt, which is a no-no in my book, unless you are wearing a shoulder harness)...

or eric gordon lol! Ya ive always been bothered by undershirts, call me old fashioned.

I have been, like most, the most surprised by Devin Davis.  Collin Hartman is doing just fine as well, and he does need to shoot it more.  Once he can get a three to go down, I think there will be more catch and shoot from him.  Just needs to get the ball to go down a little more.

I've been surprised by Stan Robinson, but I don't know if he is seeing limited time because of his knee or not.  I expected more from him, but we just don't know how much the knee is truly bothering him.

Question: Does anyone think he's taking Austin Etherington's minutes?

Very much so.  There aren't enough minutes for all 13 players to see the court. Right now it appears that we have a nine or ten man rotation, with Stan as the bit-part 11th.  PJ and Austin currently seem to be out of consideration during competitive games.
