KelleyHoosh Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Does Nile have a shot at playing right away? Quote
CottageGrove Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Looks like a great pickup! With the recruiting momentum the staff has built I've got to think getting over the hump to bowl eligibility is coming soon. The schedule isn't set up great this year, but it's coming. I've never wanted to wish time away, but we're only 56 days from kickoff! ccgeneral, Napleshoosier, mamasa and 2 others 5 Quote
hoosierwhodey Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Very excited about this pickup. Can never have enough OLB in a 3-4!Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners HoosierReb01, Naturalhoosier and ccgeneral 3 Quote

Crimson and Cream Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Great day for IU FB, we get a 3 star LB and another QB that helps with our depth issues at the position. I've never been this excited about IU football before, this is awesome. HoosierReb01, Diadem, ccgeneral and 2 others 5 Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I said this when CKW was getting going through his 'growing pains'. Give him time. He'll make it happen. Each year has been a notch of improvement. Anything less than another rung on the Improvement Ladder this year will be a disappointment! GO HOOSIERS!!!!!!!!!! HoosierReb01 1 Quote
8bucks Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Wanted to see his rankings and looked hoping he was a 4 star guy since he was at ND. At first I was disappointed he was a 3* kid but I did find a few articles that spoke of his value. A few notes. Was mentioned to be the top linebacker in a strong linebacker class. Had a very big senior year that suggest he is closer to a 4*. Also saw where he played on the line instead of as a linebacker which impacted his ranking. As a linebacker alone he was highly regarded despite being a 3*. Funny how being a 3* at Indiana is becoming expected, at least to me. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners He is a four star on ESPN, and had a 5.7 rating at Rivals, and a 89 at 247. A 5.8 rating at Rivals is a 4 star, and a 90 at 247 is a 4 star. So I think its fair to say, Sykes is as close to being a 4 star as you can get without actually being one. All of that, if star power actually means much. 8bucks, ccgeneral, CottageGrove and 1 other 4 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Nothing wrong with 3 stars. Football recruiting's a bit of a different animal. There are just so many prospects. Anyway, all you have to do is look at the offers most of our guys are getting. Dalton26, 8bucks, KelleyHoosh and 4 others 7 Quote
TheStillman Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 It's nice that over the past few years we've been able to go up against big programs for recruits and compete versus going up against MAC schools for recruits. This is great news. We have a lot of momentum. Let's win some games this year to keep it going. I don't know about all of you but I really really want to finally beat Michigan this season. It's been close pretty much every year since the game in 2009 when Darius Willis went off. Taking them out would feel good to say the least.
