6'10" Winker is a walk-on and provides a depth piece for practice.  Potentially also a depth piece on our Peru trip as our 2 international players can't participate in those games.  As noted before, they can make the trip and practice but because IU is representing the USA and they are foreign citizens, they are not permitted to play in the actual games.

There is embellishment and then there is straight up bull$hit. This is the latter. I go to a couple of Chaminade games every year because they’re 10 mins from me and they play a really good schedule. I vaguely recall a big white kid who played a little. But he most definitely  “led” no one anywhere. 
That being said, there’s certainly no downside to a big kid to serve as practice fodder for Sherrell and Samet. Welcome aboard, young man.

I literally yelled NOOOO!!! at the top of my lungs when I saw this post. Thank goodness he will be a walkon. As some else said we need a serviceable third big.  end. of. story.

It can be quite entertaining to do the unpredictable.  
 

This might need a try tomorrow, just so I can give a full detailed reasoning why Ben Winkler wasn’t the depth piece Indiana needed on its roster to a random stranger.
